    Excellent job!!! Beautifully designed! If I may suggest, a thin layer of paste wax or paraffin between the rubbing parts would make the sliding even smoother!! Thanks for sharing your passion with us all! You have amazing ideas!

      That's great.
      It also reduces wear and can be used more smoothly.

      Perhaps because i stopped watching to ask about 5:38, but Sylvain, do you think that it is really possible that a craftsman who can design and produce such an excellent jig is not aware of the uses of wax as a lubricant?

    • @sylvainchantal7983
      @sylvainchantal7983 3 года назад +3

      It was just meant to be a constructive comment Lee. Hammer Sound knows clearly what he is doing and I certainly don't doubt his skills. I just wanted to add a comment in case this would improve his jig, since the use of lube wasn't shown in the video. I've been doing woodworking for several years and keep learning new tricks every day! 😉 There is an honesty that comes with an open mind because being open-minded means admitting that you aren't all-knowing. Greetings!

    At 3:15 you glue a strip to the right side of the jig base. Later, at 6:54 the strip is different. It is wider and has an angle cut out to accomodate the moving arm. Is there a need for a wider strip there or is it a different base and just what was available at the moment?

      Tension can be adjusted with one adjustment for an angle of 30 degrees rather than 90 degrees.
      For example, 90 degrees requires two adjustments on the side/top or bottom..
      30= More precise tension adjustment with only one side
