    I was probably about 10, maybe 1963/4 when a crew turned up across the road from where i lived and began to blast rock to make a road. it was all down hill and it was summer. I took cool cordial over and they taught me how to put the "gelignite" in the holes. i think they used that. I would then wire the plunger after the huge rope mats were over it. then I'd get to plunge. it was great, i had a great time, and i collected the used wire to sell but it ended up getting tossed. Great memories! Thank you.

    Mixing Anfo the easy way. Thats a lot of C4 in the bottom of the sock! I guess its the farmers gravel pit.

    "loaded into lay flat tubing that is considerably smaller than the hole diameter, to decouple the shock component of the blast energy and reduce the shattering"
    Oh, that is a mighty clever trick! That's going in my toolbox, you never know when the need might arise. Excellent thinking.

    Nicely set up and executed shot. Great visuals and editing on the video. First time I've seen the plastic sleeves used. Would be great when working with wet holes. Would like to see a followup on the size of the rock when the farmer starts starts moving the spoil. Thanks for the video!

    • @demolitiondavedrillandblast
      @demolitiondavedrillandblast  3 месяца назад +1

      The use of lay flat plastic tube is standard procedure for using ANFO in wet holes, now days it is used less because of the proliferation of pumped emulsion trucks.

    • @repairsecrets
      @repairsecrets 3 месяца назад +1

      @@demolitiondavedrillandblast We used the emulsion years ago in the coal mines that I worked in. It worked great but the cost was more than twice that of ANFO. There was also something call drill that could be used. Again, it was way more expensive.

Just another example of woke nonsense, censorship and punishing all those who do not drink the cool-aid.
