I really appreciated this video. Im a self preserved 4w5 and I can appreciate the structure the 1 brings especially when I get depressed and don’t feel like getting out of bed. Having a 1 who pushes me can be awesome. On the flip side i definitely see how easy it is for the 1 to join me in my melancholy especially when things don’t go their way. The thing is I can pull myself out of my depression but i don’t think 1’s are as equipped for dealing with those deep emotions.
As a 4w5, I've found 1s to be pretty hit-or-miss depending on how healthy both of us are. For the most part, we do tend to agree on a lot of ideals, and we can bring a good mix of similar & opposite qualities to the table. But if you're unable to handle the differences, it can go south fast, with 1s getting more & more frustrated, and 4s getting more & more hurt, until the relationship finally dissolves. Often the biggest challenge is that both types need to learn to accept their partners for who they are, not who they want them to be.
Great stuff! As a 1 married to a 3, I can confirm that we get stuff done. Learning to rest after achieving goals has been key to keeping us healthy and united.
Haha! I’m a 1 and my husband is a 3. We have 4 kids 4 and under…. Definitely an efficient, busy, productive and tired couple over here 🤣 Seriously though, some really good reminders in here. So important to slow down and meet our kids where THEY are at for the health of them and our family.
Same situation here. We had 4 under 4 and eventually 7 under 7. I wish we could explore this more 🤣 I've always wondered what makes us be like this while most of our friends stopped after each kid to evaluate if they should have another baby and how long to wait etc.
You are doing a great sevice to the world with these fabulous videos. It is lovely to see your wife, and her contribution was really helpful. My dad, is 1 and my mum, is 2. The way you explained this couple was totally accurate. As a 4 i often felt restricted as a child because there was very little room for creativity and expression of feelings. Learning about how different types function helps me take things less personally and to see people for who they are and why they do what they do, as opposed to viewing their actions as intentionally 'wanting to hold me back from being happy.' Keep these vids coming 👍
i'm a 4 in a relationship with a 1 and conversational volatility is definitely very present, lol. but doesn't that keep things interesting? i'm also not surprised to hear that the couple you know are both artists, because we both are too. and that really i think is the groundwork of this type of relationship. i think the intensity of connection can't be understated-the right 4 with the right 1 will connect on many moral and spiritual levels, and the kinks-of which there are.......quite a few-will just HAVE to be worked out, because the connection is what matters most of all. i also have a feeling that type 1s might have a slightly repressed flair for the dramatic and for what's "special," and 4s, of course, crave stability, though we hate to admit it to ourselves.
This cracked me up. 1w2 female here married to a 3w2 man.. overachiever and exhausted couple really struck a cord. We have been married 11 years and had 7 kids in our first 8 years of marriage and have moved 13 times with the Army. We are so tired. Tired isn't even a good word for what we both feel.
Your face when your wife talked about the way to fold towels 😂 I’m also a 7 and looked at my towel cupboard, your wife would kill me! These are great! My husband is a 1.
As a 4w5 married to a 1, I was just appreciating him for "being the sturdy, stable foundation on which I can frolic around in all my 4-ness." He likes my challenging the rules lol.... after fussing a little...lol
The staying off the grass example has happened with my husband and I lol. Also we have set boundaries with who gets to design what rooms in the house... So crazy how spot on your examples were!
I’m an enneagram 1 INFJ and regardless of enneagram I tend to be attracted to xNFP’s, who are all about authenticity! I think the only enneagram number I couldn’t see myself with is a 3, it’s exhausting. Common ennea 1 stereotypes revolve around the ISTJ type, but my right/wrong is more about principles and morals, in other words I could care less how the dishes are put in the dishwasher 😂 but I also don’t want to feel like a parent in a relationship, so my partner will have to pull their own weight.
I now know how to spot a 2w1 sx. look at her, 10% time eye contact with the camera and 80% at him, even though he doesn't realise it... its sweet. He is here for the podcast, she is here for him!
9 man here married to a 1 woman and whooo, yeah. Kind of an opposites attract deal. Can’t wait till you do that combo. Just discovered the enneagram a week ago and it’s helping so much already. Love your channel!!!!!!
That is my husband and I....total opposite. I am 1 and my husband is a 9. After 15 years we have figured out a few things, but I still have to keep my need to “fix him” in check! 😂
Look at the 5’s actions lol they are terrible with words and deep emotions. They at least will try to give gifts, move mountains for you, and spend a lot of quality time together.
I am a 1 who is an artist manager and my husband is a 4...who is entirely more creative than I am. Getting to agree on things is such a challenge. No amount of explaining my viewpoint really every changes my husband's internal motivation.. I think he is asking my opinion because we are going to discuss it, and compromise , but it doesn't work that way..
hahahaha the correlation as a couple 1 with a 2 is more like me on the inside. I am a 1 wing 2 so these conversations happen all the time in my head! The internal conflict of trying to teach my children to do it right the first time but also to have the grace to understand them and how they are.
Me too! That was my thought talking about parenting. My dominant 1 is like you didn’t do what I asked no you can’t go. Then my w2 chimes in my head and tries to reason with my 1 strictness. Lol. It’s hard!
When I was younger I was a 1 with a 2 wing. Now at 70 have traverersed the 7 to 5 and I am pretty much a 1 with a 9 wing. I think we do grow and change thru out life. Thank you both for your insights and dynamic.
child 4 here with a mom 1. I would suggest the 1 never, ever shame the 4 or try to change them. it will only result in the 4 not only not cooperating but completely altering their personalities to be the OPPOSITE of what the 1 wants out of just sheer spite. you will never dominate a 4. you can only support, protect and LISTEN. we just don't do things any other way than our own and in our own timeframe. we don't even abide by the timeline society sets for us.
Hi I'm a 1 married to husband who's a 2 so he will bring people home for dinner without telling me 🤯 so then I have to make two chicken breasts stretch to feed one or more extra people. So of cause this brings out my yes I can do this 🤣 but why do you do this. We have been married for 30 year's so it can work.
Lol as a four this would drive me crazy lol would legit give the guest husband’s dinner instead 🤣 I need a heads up if guest are coming or I feel ambushed and attacked in my own home
23:46 1s with 4s ... you're welcome lol
Would you consider doing time stamps of when you discuss the 2, 3, 4 for example? Thank you.

Great. Thanks for sharing this.
4 in relationship with 1 - you captured very well how the relationship functions, high sides and low sides. Thanks for sharing!

Also do more of which types you think would be good together! That’s so fun !

So is my relationship as a four w five a goner 🤣 Bc I literally always feel attacked and never understood or heard.

Can two 4w5’s get along well with each other?
This is good! I am glad you included your wife in this. I agree with her on why I fold the towels that way, to fit on the shelf.
Yes! Thank you!

Have you done the other videos? I am a 1 and my husband is a 9.... :-)
Can you explain the Dynamics of a Type one ( self preservation) W2 with a Type 8 ( sexual)W 7
How would you work with a mom 1 and a son 4
That is a great question. Just realize that you are the "rule follower" and he is probably not wired that way.
child 4 here with a mom 1.
@@walexander000so what should a 4 child do to better understand the 1 Mom? Do 4s try to understand others?
Yes!! A relationship video! Thanks for doing this... I’m no longer dating that 2 😬 Hope to set up another call with you soon.
And I am glad my wife joined me for the video. Hope to hear from you soon!
This four sees my 2 and 1 sis and sil as places/goals to ascribe. Maybe a little envy to add a little Martha to my Mary!
Thank you 😊.
Do more of these please!!!
What about 1x7 relationship
Coming in the next video.
