Wondered where I'd seen Matera before and then realised it's where the latest James Bond was filmed no time to die, or at least some of the early shots, however you made it look more glamourus! Hopefully you'll be showing us your take on Christmas dinner soon. Best wishes from a gloomy England
We only watched the movie AFTER we've been to Matera! 😆Our 'traditional' Christmas day usually involves a big family lunch thing and as it's summer in the southern hemisphere it's probably a bit different to what happens in Europe. But alas, we have been away from 'home' during Christmas more times than what we've been there.
I love that you appreciate the moments and the lifestyle you’ve made happen. We’re almost there, getting our life here in Australia sorted then we’ll be on our way!
Thanks Susie! ❤ Drone footage can be a bit 'overused' in vlogs but often it gives a nice perspective and if applied sparingly it adds to the story or can set the mood nicely. We try to get 'less' shots of 'more' - helps with variety in the edit. But then again, we obviously don't really know much about film making, we just make it up as we go. 😋
Lovely video you two! Though adding to my planning dilema on our last two nights on our upcoming italy trip. Coming from Amalfi by car and trying to decide on Matera, Alberabello or both, hmm. Tough decisions, any ideas are appreciated plenty. Thanks for the vids!
Hi Chad, thanks for your comment! We both agree that if you have to pick one it should definitely be Matera! You can easily enjoy exploring it over 2 days especially seeing as it is a bit of a drive from the coast so you might not arrive that early. Depending on how much you want to squeeze in, you could consider the following: Day 1: drive to Matera, explore the town for the afternoon and evening and spend the night there. Day 2: Early morning hike across to the other side before checking out. Then drive to Locorotondo to spend the evening and night there. Day 3: Drive to Alberobello early morning for a short visit depending on your departure time. I presume you're leaving from Bari? Alberobello is much nicer without the crowds early morning. In the late afternoon / evening we think Locorotondo is a nice experience. But the "trulli" are special to Alberobello! Alternatively leave one for another time! 😜 Hope that helps! When are you going?

Had thought of one night in Matera, and one night staying in a Truli Air bnb just outside of town. Worried that may be too much jumping around. and maybe Matera deserves more time. Pretty short drive though from Ravello. Hope all is well in your trek! Cheers Chad
