An african samurai and even a Christian samurai who refused to to reject his faith knowing well the danger he was putting himself into . Fascinating.

He gave up everything he have to keep his faith. He has a statue in Paco district of Manila. He and his people settled there. They called.the place Plaza Dilao (yellow) because the Japanese have yellow skin.

Christianity became quite prevalent in Japan before WW1/2.
It wasn't until the the mid 20th century and WW2 that Japanese citizens isolated themselves from Christianity. Even then, Japanese Christians became doctors, Nurses, Priest, Nuns or Missionaries. As early as the 16th century there were Japanese Christians and even the Shogun and many Daimyo held catholic faith.
I too am a Christian and this is ok. I wish to impart to all people that my faith is inherently personal, and that you being Muslim, Jewish, Buddhists, Athiest, Satanist or whatever is perfectly fine with me. I pray to a person for whom I do not think would consider you my enemy.
And moreso, I think we'd be better as friends. ❤

The history of Christianity in Japan is deep with many stories, both beautiful and sad
