- What are comma splices, and how can we fix them? In this lesson, I'll teach you how to identify a comma splice in a sentence and three different ways to fix them. A comma splice is when two independent clauses are incorrectly joined by a comma to make one sentence. If you don't know what an independent clause is, I will also explain that in my lesson!
We can fix comma splices by adding a conjunction, adding a semicolon, or making separate sentences.
At the end of my lesson, we'll have a practice session where you will have to identify comma splices and fix them.

There are times where I read sentences that have comma splices. Is it possible that books, particularly novels, do not always have correct punctuations?
Yes! Comma splices are very common in novels as part of creative expression.
@@SparkleEnglish Omgg! 😭 You are so nice. You really replied to me. I’m actually curious about that for days, and it bothers me whenever I see comma splices in the book that I’m reading. Thank you very much! 💗💗💗💗
