  • Arun Thapa a famous Nepali singer who stole the hearts of thousands of Nepali music lovers.
    The friends of Arun Thapa's family, Narayan Gopal, Gopal Yonzon, and Shankar Lamichhane, encouraged him to pursue music. However, he felt in developing his own style, therefore their influence was minimal in his music. The majority of his songs were performed in remembrance of the college lady he fell in love with.
    He has made a significant contribution to Nepali music and is a major source of inspiration for up-and-coming young artists in the genre. His tracks Ritu Haruma Timi appeared in rankings of the BBC World's Top Ten.
    Jati Maya Laye Pani, the first song he recorded, ended up being a huge hit. In 1971, he sang his first song on Radio Nepal. Arun and The Best of Arun are the two albums he has released. Fans of Nepali music loved both of these highly successful CDs. He sang for more than thirty years during his career. Among his well-known songs are Ritu Haruma Timi, Chot ke ho byatha ke ho, and Aankhako Need Khosi Lane.
    One of the mainstays of Nepali music, Arun Thapa succeeded in bringing about a significant change in the country's musical history. His liver and lungs were failing, and he passed away in 1999.
