- Maybe it was all the day drinking, but that was the most fun we've ever had on a trip! 😅 This will not be a full overview of the tour with Rabbie's, but please let me know if you have any specific questions about it. Ben and I looked up youtube videos for the Islay whisky tour prior to booking. I didn't want there to be any confusion with this video, and what I'm going to talk about. The short answer is: highly recommend ❤️ Distillery info below.
Correction - my backpack was 35L, not 32L
The Allpa 35L Travel Pack: www.cotopaxi.com/products/all...
Distilleries visited:
Ardbeg - full tour
Ardnahoe - tasting blends. My favorite was Hebridean Journey
Bowmore - full tour
Bruichladdich - tasting. I got to try Ocotmore, and I loved it. The sensation is like nothing else. I plan to buy a bottle soon.
Bunnahabhain - We stopped in. Some people did tastings there. Ben and I bought a tasting set with tiny bottles to take home because we needed pace ourselves.
Lagavulin - tasting. We felt very lucky to have our tasting led by Iain McArthur before his retirement. He was amazing, and they were very generous on this tour. Well worth the price.
Laphroaig - full tour
Side note, I learned a few things while putting this video together. I'm going to remember them for my next trip so I can start making proper travel vlogs 😊
This was SUCH a fun video, Meghan! I love hearing about people's travels 🥰. Scotland looked really fun. The shade of the scarf at 7:13 is GORGEOUS! Looks super cosy. The cashmere in Scotland is impeccable! Love your tweed cape too! So classic and will last FOREVER!
Thank you! I can't wait for autumn so I can finally wear everything! 😊
The cape is beautiful! What a lovely souvenir. The more I travel, the more I realize how much I enjoy traveling. I like to buy fun things too, but like you said, a trip and a bag can cost the same amount 😅
I can't wait for cooler weather to actually wear it! 😊
What a fun trip! I know nothing about whiskey 😅 but it was still fun to watch! I love that Ben brought the same luggage as you. 😆 Longchamp is hands down the best for travel!
Thank you Lula! I thought it was so funny seeing us lined up with matching luggage 😅 so cute. Yesss Longchamp is the best!!
this was so much fun, your energy is contagious🫶
Thank you!
Great video! Love the green scarf and the cape! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 😊
Hi Meghan, could you do a get ready with me or tutorial or something with this makeup look please? It's so nice and suits you really well. Thank you! X
Thank you so much! Sure, I'd be happy to try doing a get ready with me for this makeup 😊
The cape is beautiful! Glad you enjoyed your trip :) I can definitely relate to your thoughts in the last third of the video. I think especially my solo trip to DC and New York last year made me realize how much enjoyment I get out of traveling. I have definitely seen my luxury spending go down. Well, apart from my Birkin that is…
Thank you Lesley! I'm looking forward to a couple small trips coming up, and it's taken my mind away from going in boutiques. Your Birkin was a very special purchase 😊
I ❤ love scarves and now you’ve made the case for capes, so just going to add that to my list. The trip looked amazing 🤩 my husband would love a tour like that and so would I (but I’m not really drinking these days so some of the allure might be lost on me). I am totally with you on experiences versus things. They are different and our relationship to them may ebb and flow throughout our lives.
I'm a big fan of capes 😉 You can't go wrong with a cape and fabulous hat. Such a classic combo! If I had more room in my luggage, I would have hit up the vintage shop in town.
Harris Tweed will last you forever, beautiful quality, so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 I would love to see more travel, yes it does make sense
It really is great quality. My husband loves his Harris Tweed blazers, and the older ones are still in perfect condition. Thank you! It was an unforgettable trip. I'm hoping to share more travel in the future ❤️
Oh wow, you’ll have to give me the name of the hotel in Edinburgh. Looks lovely!
Also so happy you enjoyed your roast, an absolute must for any UK trip 😍
I'll message you the hotel! OMG I'm not exaggerating when I say that roast rocked my world! I'm so jealous that you can get that any week😭
Girl in the green scarf!!
I thought that too 😅💚
Eventhough I live in Europe and Scotland isn’t too far away, I‘ve never been there - I think it might be time 😳. Thank you for sharing your experiences and pics 🤩
Watched til the end 😁: I didn’t have any mind/life changing trips so far 😅, eventhough I already did quite some traveling in my life (Chicago, NewYork, China, Mauritius and a whole lot of Europe) - but (as we all know 😂) I‘m trying to be more mindful with my money and want to shop less anyways…
You should check it out! It's one of my favorite places. There's a long list of countries I still want to see, but I'd go back to Scotland every year if I could afford to do it all 😅
I found it funny that you thought you had to be on the semi downlow when saying you don’t know if you want to buy buy buy things anymore. It’s why it’s called a journey I suppose.
I'm still working out my feelings on it. This way the people who just come for the eye candy don't have to sit through my ramblings 😅
