- So I have had the opportunity to test out the Sonos Ace for a few weeks & I've come to the conclusion...I think they're better than Airpods Max. Here are 5 reasons why I think that.

"Have Sonos just killed the AirPods Max?' As with every single question like this, the answer is no.
The only issue with AirPods Max is they are way to uncomfortable for most uses outside the home/indoor environment. You can't use them outside, they are very heavy with the clamp design and they make my ears sore and sweaty after extended periods. I think these are the alternative.
Great review. I just ordered the Sonos Ace in black to replace my AirPods Max which in my opinion are way too heavy. I might up grade my old LG sound bar and sub to a Sonos setup in the future. I’m in the Apple ecosystem system as well so we will see how they work.
Can you drive them passively ? When the battery is dead / they're turned off can you drive them with the cable ?

I don’t understand what the relevance of truplay is on the headset? The whole point of room calibration is to account for room acoustics based on walls, furniture , ceiling etc, all which are negated by a headphone …. Am I missing something?

It is their launch price...they may come down a little at some point I'm sure.

This is what I want to know , I watched a couple reviews saying when doing the audio switch with the sound bar it’s to quiet .
I love these! I can seem to put them down. Way better to me than my AirPods Max's.
Aptx adaptive works on Samsung S23 ultra? For real??
AptX HD appears on Galaxy...in the video I was actually using my Xperia 1VI that shows Snapdragon Sound & AptC Adaptive.
Imma stuck with my XM5s LDAC and sound profile. Apple headphones are overpriced for what you get.
Do you use a Samsung phone? You won't get aptX Adaptive on it...

Sonos discriminates the Android users. First, you required an iOS device to set up the Audio swap between the Ace headphones and Arc soundbar. Second, even calibrating the Arc to your room requires an iOS device. Disgusting.
Other manufacturers can provide their own mic for the calibration or just emit a sound directly from the soundbar...eg. Bose soundbars, Sennehiser Ambeo soundbars, etc.
Actually I'm not surprised, as when I checked the box the usual 'Works with Android' badge which is usually there on every set of headphones boxes is missing. There is only a 'Made for iPhone/iPad badge.'
Sonos simply hates and ignores Android users and losing a massive market because of this silly, discriminative decision.
As a Sonos fanboy... i quickly sold my sony mx5 to get the sonos ace. its a no brainer. loving it so far.
They are awesome
I'd buy them for around sixty to eighty bucks. If I'm feeling really kinky I'd go as far as 160.
Also, in my opinion, they're not affordable just because they strap the comparison to apple products. It's like me selling you a homemade Sports car and telling you it being affordable because it costs less than a ferrari.
Lets say it’s a late night and you want to watch a movie with your partner or wife, you can’t because Sonos only think single people want to watch movies without disturbing others, my 2 pairs are useless for this and are going back.
Very disappointing not to have this feature.

I own both, without a beam or for the moment the arc and the ace audio swap… the airpods max is still better ! For movie, music, podcast… 💯 sure !
