I'm so heartbroken that millions of people watching this could not understand every single word in this song.. I can bet you that you will surely shed tears assuming you understand the information this guy is trying to pass.. Anytime I'm feeling down, I used to put the music on replay in order to give myself the hope that no condition is permanent and that things are gonna be alright for me someday just like this guy. This young man was trying to tell us never to forget our roots and how rough his humble beginning was and that is what millions of African children are passing through but we still hope for better days despite all our challenges. Just that he lost both parents shortly after he became famous and rich. It's my language, it's my culture, it's my tradition.(Yoruba language is so amazing) Proudly Nigerian
i am cameroonian and i think Olamide made grow my love for the Yoruba people and language through his songs especially this one. Although i understand not a word, i succeeded in grasping the beauty of this language and culture.
Mengou larissa, the girl who I almost died for her love way back in high school, Gbhs Tiko. Who would have thought we would meet here again after 11 years? Small world haha.
He narrated his ordeal in the music. His true life story. How his parents went through hell to put food on the table, how landlord chase them away, how they sold their properties just to feed. Then, how he left the comfort of home to the streets to hustle for good life through music. Then how he finally made it. The chorus of the music is from an old school Yoruba music by Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose: it translates to there's no affluence that comes easy but with a lot of sacrifices. Thank you.
I didn't used to like Olamide in his early days, but over time he has proven to me that he is good & I totally respect his talent, creativity and diversity. God Bless him, God Bless Nigeria.
I'm crying right now dropping my child at nursery for his last week in pains but it's tears of joy for God to count me worthy enough to be a mother in spite of sickle cell and all the sacrifices I've made like signing myself out of hospital in pain just to tend to him THANK YOU GOD FOR THE GRACE 🙏🏾.
Olamide, thank you for this song That song tells the true story of most of the africans. It is my history, it is your history ... Olamide, thank you so much.... This is the best song you ever sing. Continue to sing the truth
And this is why Olamide is the Voice of the street. His hardwork and his dedication to fuji music. Mad respect. Love you Sir and keep doing your thing. We got your back. Wa sere :)
Proudly a yoruba child, this video had me in tears, people never know what you have to good through to make. So proud of you Olamide. Always be humble. God Bless you.
Mommy ta Ashor ati bata fun Kparo - Wow look at that strong word!! It remind me when my grand mom and my mom use to sell their stuff to Kparo and Onigo aka (Bottle buyer) so that i could eat right and go to school in Ajegunle. Later my mom died when i was 9 years old and my grand mom took over alone. She sold dry fish in Bandry Ajegunle, she couldn't keep up with money, so i dropped out of secondary school. But now look at me now.. in USA, Multiples houses in Naija and USA, Petrol station. I bought the house of the landlord that drove us out on quit notice from Ajegunle and my fathers house too. I'm not stopping, I'm not backing out..i just want to say thanks to the people who gave me a life, free food and above all wise advice. Olamide we need to work together, I saw you in Gbagada but you busy so i didn't stop in my Hummer. Peace bro.
These lines always bring tears from my face. "They never thought i'll make it to the top but that is not fair" "Tori mummy wa o lowo"(because my mom is poor) "Tori dad wa o lowo"(because my dad is poor) "Hustle from the house of pain and every damn thing are sorrow" "Mo ya je solo o(i accept my fate)" "I dey so low" "Dem be high class, dem say we are so low 😭😭😭😭"
