I'm so heartbroken that millions of people watching this could not understand every single word in this song.. I can bet you that you will surely shed tears assuming you understand the information this guy is trying to pass.. Anytime I'm feeling down, I used to put the music on replay in order to give myself the hope that no condition is permanent and that things are gonna be alright for me someday just like this guy. This young man was trying to tell us never to forget our roots and how rough his humble beginning was and that is what millions of African children are passing through but we still hope for better days despite all our challenges. Just that he lost both parents shortly after he became famous and rich.
It's my language, it's my culture, it's my tradition.(Yoruba language is so amazing)
    Proudly Nigerian

i am Cameroonian but i really love naija. you make Africa proud . For years now i have listened and dance to their songs. i am just watching this song for the first time at 5:59am and i cried. I remember people thought i will be nothing , my uncles, and growing up as an orphan you guy know what it means. but "one day na one day" as the say, though don"t have much yet but at least I made a bold step and I only realize after watching this video and listening to it. I understand nothing about the language but I felt it. Olamide, " no be lie, you talk am, life na je je" look, we know nothing of tomorrow but with hope, we are guaranteed. where ever you are. even in that country you are, yet struggling and people looking up to you, it will be ALRIGHT!!!! if you can't endure then you are not worth the end result, i will say it in pidgin. "even for thief no easy. so my brother then ,you dey oyibo or anywhere, it will happen. olamide , i said much cuz my emotion just go up. tears just dey run down my cheek. chaii!! life no be small thing." My motto be say i go makam.

He narrated his ordeal in the music. His true life story. How his parents went through hell to put food on the table, how landlord chase them away, how they sold their properties just to feed. Then, how he left the comfort of home to the streets to hustle for good life through music. Then how he finally made it. The chorus of the music is from an old school Yoruba music by Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose: it translates to there's no affluence that comes easy but with a lot of sacrifices.
      Thank you.

Mommy ta Ashor ati bata fun Kparo - Wow look at that strong word!! It remind me when my grand mom and my mom use to sell their stuff to Kparo and Onigo aka (Bottle buyer) so that i could eat right and go to school in Ajegunle. Later my mom died when i was 9 years old and my grand mom took over alone. She sold dry fish in Bandry Ajegunle, she couldn't keep up with money, so i dropped out of secondary school. But now look at me now.. in USA, Multiples houses in Naija and USA, Petrol station. I bought the house of the landlord that drove us out on quit notice from Ajegunle and my fathers house too. I'm not stopping, I'm not backing out..i just want to say thanks to the people who gave me a life, free food and above all wise advice. Olamide we need to work together, I saw you in Gbagada but you busy so i didn't stop in my Hummer. Peace bro.

The street, The Toilet damn! The face me and Face you meaning. She will know that here you can even borrow water, your neighbor will borrow spoon, Salt or even plates. Where you have to wait for 1 hour to take shower! Where you can go to toilet to take a fcking shit! and you can see shit from looking down the hole, The smell will drives u crazy, but we still use!... Lovely song right here! I thank GOD for today. Cuz when I go back to see this I wont even believe I lived there for years , Bless U. iRelate to this

Lord help and heal Nigeria. A rich culture and great beauty with diversity is faced with the threat of Religion and Corruption. I love yoruba music though am from Akwa Ibom and live far away from all the unrest but I want my kids to come see this sweet and great Country.
