Unveiling My Spring Sewing Creations: Swimwear and Loungewear

- Hi Everyone! My name is Samantha and welcome to my RUclips channel: Sewing in Switzerland!
Today I want to show you the latest and greatest garments I’ve made. These were part of my holiday capsule wardrobe and honestly they did the job.
The first two garments I made as a matchy-matchy set, are the Helen’s Closet Nelson pants and Slocan vest top. They’re a great option for yoga or loungewear and are super comfortable. I’m not sure I’d wear them out of the house as they feel a bit tight, or a bit close to my skin and I prefer to wear looser garments away from my body for sensory reasons.
The third garment is the Megan Nielsen Cottesloe Swimsuit and let me tell you - it was a breeze to make!!! Literally 3 pieces, a bit of elastic and away we go. I don’t know why but I thought it would be tricky but it’s top 3 one of the easiest garments I’ve made.

Thanks Libby lovely, I’ll get on that for you. Honestly, you will have absolutely no trouble with it - top 3 easiest projects. It’s a little fiddly lining up the elastic but no actual ‘difficult’ steps. I’ll put the sew along together and I promise afterwards you’ll say to me, what a breeze that was! Yes please a swimwear sewalong . It might be the thing I need to start. Personally I prefer togs with a skirt attached.

Your garments look great.I am sorry but I snorted a laugh when you stood up with your swimsuit on. For some reason I thought you were going to be wearing your pants over your swimsuit and I could not work out why you made referance to a wrestling outfit. When you stood up,I just snorted with laughter as I knew what you meant and it made perfect sense. Have you thought of drafting your own swimwear block? Drafting a swimwear block is very easy and far, far more forgiving than a blouse block. Once you have your block you can design yourself any wrestling suit you want (Ooops,sorry, that should have been any swimwear you want 😜) Once again, Sam, you have done a terrific job and it is great to see you looking so much happier and relaxed.

Hahahah that made me laugh. I was cringing inside but I didn’t know how else to show the shape 😂😂. It’s on my list actually so that’s good to know it’s an easy one - I genuinely could not believe how easy it was to make so I’ll definitely draft a block soon and showcase that. In the meantime I’ll just continue life moonlighting as the leopard print wrestler 😂, I think it’ll catch on!! Will have to make matching masks for the potatoes 😂🙈😂 and maybe husband but he may move out in the process 😂😂

Swimsuit is great! I love the fabric and the fit is really good. I don't worry about my bra showing a little, but I also don't mind wearing a strapless bra.
You are so kind, thank you for the lovely message! Normally I’m totally the same but I think it was a combo of needing a t-shirt bra as the fabric shows the whole bra silhouette and then the thick bra straps with the tops spaghetti straps, just felt a bit jarring. Maybe I’m overthinking it though 😂💆♀️ good for summer though for sure! Hope you have a fab day! 😘😘❤️
They do like to freak us out, my duke got hold of a tiny bit of cheese two days ago and got very sick for a day and refused all food, the last time this happened with some beef he ended up in puppy hospital for two weeks. Next morning for the first time ever he barged the other dogs out the way and ate their breakfasts like nothing had happened.
Oh no love, I’m so sorry. Glad he’s on the mend and up to no good again though! Does he have a lot of food allergies? Mine are allergic to honestly, everything 😂😓 I have to cook normal ‘human’ food for them daily and still they’ll go out and try and swallow other people’s discarded chewing gums 🫣🤮 like can you please try and not?! 😂😂🙈 dogs! Why do they do it to us!xxx
@@SewinginSwitzerland My poor boy, a springer spanial who can't swim and is allergic to dairy and beef protein. It got worse as he got older and he has a mix of home cooked chicken and cooked veg once a week and the only dog food he can eat which is Wagg - which says a lot about how much beef is in their beef flavour food...
