Always a good idea to put the moss back where you got it from. Some of it will survive and catch more gold in future floods.
Now that’s something I didn’t think of… thanks for the tip! I’ll make sure and do just that! Thanks Sasquatch!
Nooooooo.... Not the retirement moss!... Just kidding, great video pal!
Definitely not retirement moss but it there. Video sucked by the way 🤣🤣🤣
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I didn't think it was bad at all... Lots of folks are completely unaware that moss can hold gold.... Besides, they can't all be bangers...If they were, we wouldn't need retirement moss ... lol
This is true 🤣
I did have a banger of a day though!
Lmao
Great job all around fam. That's how to get it done indeed. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠⛏️🏔️🇺🇲
Thanks Gold Squad! Every little bit adds up!
OH, SO DIRTY! great job. thanks for the share stay awesome!
Dirty dirty moss! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Ramses! 💪
Awesome upload
Thanks dude, definitely not my best this time around :)
It tells you there's gold baby! ✨️⛏️💪🏻👍🏻
And hopefully more next time!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks dude!
Great idea. I also tell people that moss is the best way to test a new area for color. Awesome looking creek.
It sure is! Thanks for stopping by this morning. I just woke up. Tired day! 🤣🤣🤣
I see some moss gold braddah 🤙🏽👊🏽 mahalo for the information 😎🤠👍🏽 stay blessed braddah have a great day much aloha to you and your ohana 🤙🏽💛✨
Yes you do! I want more though!!!! Hahaha. Thanks dude!
Very nice woohoo yellow gold thanks for sharing PPO out 😎
Patriot! What’s happening my friend?!?! Thanks for coming by! Always appreciated!
Moss holds lots of gold in cracks, pools, nice creek too, great info! Thanks!
Thanks again James and yes you are absolutely correct! It’s a great indicator of better gold!
I was thinking to myself, if you were gonna get that moss. Awesome ✌️
Thanks man! I sure wish it held more, but there’s tons of it up there. I could do a whole week of moss gold! Thanks again brother!
Awesome video brother! Beautiful spot!!!
Thanks Eric! Now if I can just have it produce more gold!
Thanks for the pro tip bro! I know of a spot with lots of moss on bedrock! I gotta go back and try this! 🤠
Robert! For sure my friend! If there’s gold in the moss, I guarantee it’s in the creek bed, and hopefully in more abundance! Thanks for the support and comment! Good luck and if you remember, report back on your finds!!! Heavy Pans!
Wow, that is cool! Got my attention today, gained a sub. Good job, thanks for sharing.
Mentally Corrupted! I’ve seen you before all over the place! I think I’ve been subbed to you for a while. Welcome again! lol! You the man!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser LOL, thought so too, not sure why I wasn't already either,, LOL
@MetallyCorrupted it’s all good! It’s taken care of now! Welcome back again!
Not bad! It's one of the first things I check in a new area. I too am from WA sate, on the West side (Bellingham area). Cheers!
Nice Denny! Olympia area for
Me so south a bit from you... any luck with good gold up your way? I have good days, mediocre days and horrible days... but that's prospecting :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Yep, same up here! It's all about the fun of it all. There's decent gold in certain areas, if you work hard enough. South fork of the Nooksack is usually a good spot, but pretty worked. Always a good time though!
Nice 👍 love those falls awesome
Thanks Boomer! They are something special :)
I've always wanted to try this method
EMF! Just do it! 🤣🤣🤣 I normally don’t check moss on my creek, because I know gold exists there, but if I go to other places… it’s the first thing I check!
Very cool❤🎉🎉❤
Thanks Aqua! Always check the moss in new areas :)
Absolutely❤🎉🎉❤
cool video buddy and good demonstration, you doing live streams this weekend.
Thanks Scotland! I may go live, not sure. I was out there yesterday and wanted to go live, but my power went out so I just prospected by myself yesterday. I had a great day. Found a good spot and had lots of gold with only running 4 buckets
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser Nice one mate.
Got to do that in Alaska a few years ago, there was gold in it. Our gold claim was on the other side of the creek and had very little moss, so I snuck across and gathered some just to find out if it was true. Sure enough, there was gold.
I love it… hey, you gotta check right! Lol. There’s nothing like finding gold!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser right, can you say gold fever, lol
@@pick4u2 I for sure got it!!!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser and the only cure is....more gold, lol
Cool video! Very interesting! Will the moss grow back? 🤠
Thanks Donna! I sure will! I normally don’t do that, especially on my creek because I already know the gold is there. It’s too pretty to remove to be honest :)
Just not on a rolling stone!
@jtpalooki7757 🤣🤣🤣 Never on a rolling stone! What’s crackin’ JT! Good seeing you again!
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaserglad to find your channel 👍😉..
Hitting uwharrie up today! Hope to get so decent content together.
Dude good luck! I always hear about that creek and see the gold that it hides! I hope you have some seriously heavy pans!
Moss acts like a Golden Fleece. Not environmentally friendly, though.
Marino! Good morning! It sure does have a fleece like look which helps trap the gold. It’s everywhere up here and on everything!
I've heard about this and I'm impressed, but removing moss for such little production is not for me.
Tara! You are not wrong with that statement. Basically, if I go to somewhere new, I’ll check the moss first, if it has gold, then I’ll try the creek bed knowing that it’s in abundance there. So yea, he’s moss as an indicator of gold, nothing else! Super appreciate the comment and support :)

You’re the best Joseph! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a go fund me type of platform or even PayPal for people to donate to help recoup your losses during the video? 5* channel that I’m happy to help support.
That’s really nice of you! I do have a personal PayPal but I don’t need to get paid doing this. I just like doing it, regardless if I get a big payday or not. Super appreciate you brother. You’re the 5-star my friend!
Would you do better burning the moss .
Hey! I actually never really tried that but nothing is saying that that wouldn’t work. I’d be more concerned possibly starting a fire 🤣 Good idea though.
Yes, that's how you'd get the best recovery. The old timers used steel pans, and sometimes they would put the pan loaded with moss in a fire and then pan out the ashes.
@christineedwards4865 that’s crazy that they did that but it makes complete sense. That whole area is absolutely loaded with moss, but to me, it too pretty and fits the landscape to take down. I’ll keep the gold there so it can grow bigger 🤣
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I agree, that area is beautiful and the moss is part of what makes it look so nice. It can take a few years to grow back, and any time a bad flood comes through it tears it up. There are areas kind of like that in the Blue Ridge Mtns, but with slightly less rain. If you feel bad when flipping a boulder with a beautiful carpet of moss on it, it transplants very easily. With all the rain you get, you could literally just roll up the whole "carpet" and relocate it on the bank (as long as it's still in deep shade) where flood waters hopefully won't disturb it. Or you could rip it into small pieces and scatter them in a spot where you'd like to "seed" some moss. There are a huge variety of mosses out there, but the ones that grow on wet rocks can usually also grow on damp dirt. I've experimented with transplanting a few different species, and the most difficult for me so far has been star moss (doesn't usually grow in a creek).
@christineedwards4865 we’ve actually done just that, but a little different. We have a beautiful stone wall that surrounds portions of our house and it’s covered in moss. Well a few years ago, we did some construction and we had to move a bunch of it, so to bring it back, we got a blender and put the moss and I think it was a yogurt of some kind. Anyhow, we mixed it all up and then painted it on all the rocks. A few months later, our moss came back and looks like it never left. Pretty neat that you can do that.
That is Moss ly miner's mat 🤔🤣
We have it everywhere up here. I could moss hunt all day! Thank Rich!
Expensive should survive.
Is did 🤣 good thing phone are waterproof now a days (Mostly)! I hope your job stress is lessening my friend.
This spot is dope though.
It is, I’m going to go back and work that water fall when I’m able to get into the water. I have a good feeling about that plunge pool. It’s the last in the series of other waterfalls and there’s a nice gradual low pressure zone that extends 50-75 feet beyond that. I’m thinking it’s gonna be gooooooooood!!!
@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I might do a ghetto version for fun. I wanna do some panning this summer though. Problem is, it's the election year and probably riots so I'm 🤷.
@B29p hahahahahaha! Riot season!!! Oh how I miss election years 🤣🤣🤣 Well regardless, ghetto or not, do it but be careful! You’re killin’ me over here 👍
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I'm prospecting! Fafo
Welcome to the "Water-Phone Club", Bro' 😆‼️🇺🇸🦾👍
lol! You know it Lester! Too bad I’ve been in that club for years now! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for coming by!
Not moss 😂 gold in the pan. But you found it. See you on the next one
That’s not moss Ed? Yea it ain’t much gold but if there’s gold in it, then there’s certainly gold in the streamed below :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser (much) moss
@@HDshovelEd ahh yes 👍
If you're not sampling moss youre not prospecting
That’s right Cold Boulder! You have to always check the moss. I know there’s gold in my creek so I rarely check the moss, but in news areas… I’m checking that first!
@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I'm just getting the fever again. I've been metal detecting for the past year , and getting gold in a different variety. Its Time to get back out to the creek. Just finished building a new rockerbox. Can't wait to get it out and run buckets
@cohoman83 let’s go buddy! Finding gold anyway you do it is just fine with me! Good luck out on the creek. Rocker boxes are fun! I’ve tried one before!
Great video. Get one of those battery powered blenders for when the regulatory folks visit. I havent seen any mention of blenders in Gold n Fish
🤣🤣🤣 Now that’s thinking outside the box! A blender will be my newest piece of prospecting gear! Nice one!
