This was my era. 42 now but DnB dj'd in Seattle in the 2000s. Lots of dungeon memories. Pretty sure a bunch of these were on my demos given to promoters when trying to get gigs.
There's nothing like a good vinyl mix from this era. I hate to sound like an old man but the mixing today is all plug and play. Software finds the tempo and beat-matches for you so there's less skill involved. It was always so rewarding to pinch that little "pitch" slider just enough to line up the beat perfectly and just let the mix ride.
Joe Schmoe I’m 38 too, so I’m sure we both remember that golden age with fond reverence. That’s so badass that you still have your decks. I hope one day I’ll be able to afford buying another pair of Technics. I had to pawn mine about 15 years ago and it haunts me to this day 😔.
Sir, thats really great set. Great sellection of early '00s (I'm still in love with Trippin, Side Effects, 4 Days ... ) and what's most beautiful on your set - its your way of looooong cross mixes and returns - especialy in the first half of the set. In 00s was this kind of crossmix relatively common and I really loved them. Its really shame that todays djs do not mix like that .. when you dont recognize if it is still the first track or the other one - or both together. They forget that way. So I love your flashback work. Thank you! .) (and sorry for my bad language)

Same feeling bro!
You can trace Drum n' Bass back to soul genres of music, which explains the chill, ghetto, and even rasta vibes.
Neurofunk is trying to copy this "feeling", but it has zero soul.... it's just copy and paste sensory overload.
2 years of the golden era of drum n bass imo. Some classics here.
Back when D'n'B was proper D'n'B!
