What a lovely idea for a video series! I look forward to following along. Thanks to SETAG for seeing value in Our Man in Havana, so to speak. Cheers, old boy.
I’m 21 years old and I use your videos as motivation. Seeing what is possible in life really makes me want to achieve great things. Thank you for making these videos. No one does it better
You're very kind, and very welcome 🙂
The gentleman from Setag seems a nice chap, such a good vibe about him. You just know this project will go well. Great stuff!
wow, I like that SETAG helped the owner from finding the boat to refit and everything in between, thats service. Really cool.
Project Sunseeker was some of my favourite content on this channel. Can't wait to see how this unfolds!
You can tell he's proud of the work his company will do to this boat and of what it will become when they're finished. It would be fun to spend a day with him on a boat. I can only imagine asking this man a question like...what can I do to this boat to make it the nicest it can be. Then we just explore possibilities.
EVERY SINGLE SETAG boat I've seen has been absolutely stunning! Can't wait to see the progress of this one!!
What an interesting project. It's good that older boats are refurbished to prolong their life. Lovely guy is Chris with donkey years of experience. Can't wait to see the progress. Thanks Nick and Chris. 😊😊
Going to be a great series of videos this. And a great in sight into what goes into a refit of this scale.
It's always a real pleasure to and hear Chris Gates talking talking through one of his largest refitting projects, I cannot wait to see the finished creation. I've followed Chris Gates career from when he was CEO at Princess Yachts to running this his own business 'Setag Yachts' (gates spelled backwards) now. I was also lucky to meet Chris at the second to last London Boat Show at the Excel Centre, at the Princess Yachts after show party and still have the photograph taken with him standing proudly on my living room wall. A real gentleman who loves and cares about what he does and the vision of what he has achieved is brilliant!
Nice solid, roomy yacht brought back into better than new condition. Can’t wait to see the finished product compared to the old photos. Great content Nick!
Wow its going to look amazing nick when it's finished. Thank you to SETAG for letting us see the final finish.😊😊
Looking forward to watching this one progress. Should be epic!
Reminds me of the RED series, just a bit bigger!
Setag certainly know how to impress.
What an awesome project . .
From what ive seen of the Setag refits on your channel they are great affordable updates and are up for this challenge.
Looking forward to the series .
Till next time take care .
Bye from NZ🍻👋🇳🇿twa
Look forward to seeing this one progress!
This is such a great idea as I really enjoy seeing the Setag refits….very excited to watch the progression. Thx Nick!!!
Thanks for sharing this! I expected it to be 7 figures, but honestly thought the first number would be at least a 2. What a fantastic alternative to buying new. You can't change the lines, but you can change everything else, making it a "new-ish" boat for so much less. Looking forward to what they're doing!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
What a really nice guy Chris is. You can hear the passion for the work his company does when he talks. If the Hull is suitable then what a way to get the boat you really want rather than just a boat! I do wonder when they will take a leaf out of the motorhome book and use the electric lift beds in the guest cabins! You could then have a multi use room which on smaller boats would be a win. I am really looking forward to seeing this develop.
I shall be following this project with great interest. Looking forward to seeing how the refit unfolds; I love seeing bespoke craftwork in action. Setag give the feeling of absolute perfection in what they are about, with the added value of finding your boat of choice, to give you the boat of your dream become reality.
Nice one Nick
Hi Nick, this has all the hallmarks of being one of your most interesting reviews so far, really looking forward to the followups.
Much appreciated!
Wow, this is going to be a great project to follow, like project Red, only twice the scale and probably five times the budget and custom superyacht-level materials and finish. Already looking forward to the next instalment!
This is a great boat to start with and I cannot wait to see what Chris and his crew do for its owner.
These upgrade videos are very informative and they are much appreciated, thank you
Nick
I'm glad that you enjoy them 🙂
Setag refits are quickly becoming some of my favourite RUclips videos. Looking forward to seeing the end result. For someone looking at getting into boating, ‘the third way’ is a great proposition. Would be interesting to hear more about how Setag supported the customer through sourcing the actual boat?
Chris Gates “Personal design that elevates the standard” nicely said. Thxs Nick, look forward to the next installment 👍
Very interested to watch the progress on this. Chris had a wealth of knowledge on these boats!
Thanks Nick! I really loved this episode. Remarkable how styles and owner specs have changed over relatively recent times. (i.e., past 10-20 years.)
Great practical info! 😊
P.S. Can't wait to see the final results.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Great idea to follow Seatag on a rebuild, really looking forward to this, as the man said, great boat, size, even as is it would only need a bit of freshening to look as new.
Very interesting to be able to follow this. Not only the end result but also the craftsmanship (m/w/x) that is involved in a refit.
As a builder/developer on land myself I admire what Chris is doing, it would be an enjoyable project if there was not a fixed finish date , hope all goes to schedule 🙏 , will be great to see the finished project.
What a brilliant idea for a series. Well looking forward to seeing the progress Nick
Hi Nick Hi Chris, And thank you both for this fine show the rebuild and upgrading by Setag in various stages and what you going to show us great on this Princess 72 i can hardly wait for the next show you bring us in the future Nick Thank you for this great show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very much looking forward to the next episode. Nick, I think an interview with Chris would be very interesting.
Excellent video as always, thanks nick!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
What a great idea, and really looking forward to seeing the progress, and the end result. Many thanks for doing this, Nick.
Now this is the sort of content we all love too ! Can’t wait to see progress
This is going to be a fantastic journey , thanks .😁👍
Fantastic! This is going to be brilliant. Thanks for bringing this to us Nick.
My pleasure! 🙂
I love all your videos and especially the SETAG and meet the owner series. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one as it progresses. The idea of buying used then refit to new or above new standards while saving a tremendous amount of money is a very smart choice. We need a SETAG here in the USA. They really stand apart from others.
Awesome idea, I can't wait to see the progress and the final product. Thanks Nick!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 😃
Great insight to this refit Nick, I am so excited that it is my company that will be involved with the AV part of this Yacht, as Chris mentioned a few times, Bang & Olufsen will be very much part of the design, the last time we did B&O on a Princess it was on the Princess 40M, I can't wait to see the finished result, and to be able do some demonstrations of the incredible sound system, both interior and exterior at Southampton in September.
Hey Kevin! That's great to hear, I look forward to getting a blast!
One cannot buy experience or upload it, I would feel fully confident in handing over my vessel to this gentleman and his team at SETAG.
What a great idea for a series! Really looking forward to this one 😊😊
It is a very interesting project, and I can't wait for the result of the work on this gem of a yacht 😃Thanks for giving this fine gentleman time to show all the plans for the rebuild Nick 🙂
My pleasure!
Excellent idea. Looking forward to seeing the processes for a refit.
Oh, this is going to be FABULOUS. Really excited to see this project through to completion. Excellent work, Nick!
From the changes discribed, it seems £1 million is a great deal. And I love that Chris calls it the "head".
Ok Chris, so what SeTag really need for the boat show is a demo of “little and large” to show the two extremes of your work, this one is clearly the “large”, and there’s a well known boat on RUclips called Smugglers Blues 2 that would be ideal as the “little” example, apparently the owner likes the glass Perrin and Rowe sinks, Miele appliances, and illuminated rainfall showers amongst other things.🤠👍
🤔
😂, 😊 😂
Looking forward to this one, can't wait to see how it turns out.
Wow impressive. I will say, considering what is being done, I think the mentioned price is reasonable. I am looking forward to seeing this series- especially the mother of pearl installs!
something instantly likeable about this chap. im happy you got him on camera for more than an appearance.
Great video Nick this will be very interesting to follow especially having seen some of their awesome refits 👍
wow really looking forward to the rest of this series
Super Wow! Looking forward to seeing the mid fit & the finished job. It echoes what Jim Davidson said about buying an older boat & spend the money to personalise and update it saving a fortune against new. For sure it's going to be an absolutely fabulous boat👍
What a nice bloke Chris is! You just have confidence within a minute of listening to him that the guy knows his business and you’d have no problem trusting him with a project that’s going to cost you a lot of money.
Can’t wait to see this develop Nick. Project Red was such a great series, another fly on the wall with Chris will be great.
👍
That is going to be some yacht when Setag get finished with it... I was a stunning little ship when it was new so I`m intrigued to see the finished thing. Great vid Nick.. Keep`em coming.
Thanks, will do! 😃
Looking forward to this series.
Can't wait to see the finished results! Great idea Nick !
Looking forward to this series Nick.
This is a fantastic video to start with lots of good information to wet our appetites
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
OMG, this is fascinating ! No offense Nick, but this is like a soap opera cliffhanger, can't wait for the next episode ! Thank you Nick and ALL involved !
I"m glad you enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to seeing the boat stripped down.
This was awesome to see what is happening from start to finish on a refit. I can not wait to watch the updates on this boat! Great video Nick! (By the way i had a minor panic when i saw you both walking around in your shoes! Ive never been on a yacht with my shoes on!)
cant wait for the finishing touches. Thank you both
This vid is fantastic Nick. Right up my street. I am going to enjoy watching the process, and of course the finished project, and the Setag man here is such a nice fella. Thanks
Awesome, thank you! 🙂
Chris Gates a pioneer for excellence. I worked under his reign at PYI good times building amazing boats. I would love to work on projects like this.Cant wait to see the outcome
Fantastic! 🙂
Uniquely wonderful tour and insight into something few boat owners ever experience! Loved all of it.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 😃
It's very nice to hear from someone who takes pride in his work. Great video.
Thank you kindly!
Amazing boat can’t wait to see the finish good luck aquaholic and stag are the best
Lovely boat.
TBH, I wouldn't do a thing to it (only replacing anything broken), it is perfect as it is....even the carpets look great. But we are all different, and I don't want to take anything away from Setag, who do remarkable work. If it is what the owner wants....all power to his elbow.
I’m struggling to believe they’re going to complete all that work for around a million pounds, it was sounding more like 2.5 million minimum. If as they say it’s about one million then it makes perfect sense buying used and undergoing a total refit. Great idea for all your followers to enjoy the refit journey Nick.
Great video! Fun series. Thanks!
Excellent video and looking forward to the progress viddeo.
Congrats to the owner, a one off completely to his/ her own specifications for half the price of a brand new yacht with a tick the box options list
This is going to be fascinating when it is all said and done. Many thanks! 🍷
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
That was great.Nick can't wait to see more. What's the matter? That guy moves around that boat pretty fast.He was in and out everywhere quickly
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Would be interesting to see what they do with alot of the stuff removed .
Totally enjoyed this one and look forward to seeing progress and final finished product.
Maungaturoto New Zealand.
I agree with the new video series. I loved watching the build of RED. Perhaps following another new build from start to finish???
I really liked this video. I hope you stay with him an record the journey to the finish and reveal to see it completed and see how they designed it from paper to seeing it done. To see if the final matches the drawings they made. Good idea Nick. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
That is very much the idea. 🙂
Can’t wait to see the final before and after “reveal!”
What a nice guy.
Can't wait for the finished product.
What a great video!! So inspirational ! I was actually in La Sepzia (Italy) in May this year, and as I was walking the docks of the Marina, I overheard two guys discussing the boat they were on (one was the owner) and what could be done to make it better/more contemporary, and the other guy actually said "You could Setag it".... I am not sure how long Setag have been in business, but to have your company's name as a "thing" (i.e. I will google that...) that is quite something... Believe it was a Fairline (not sure what model or age) - but I really look forward to the next episode of this!! What a great way to give further life to splendid boats/ships..... Thanks Nick
No way, that's remarkable! 🙂
For what you're doing, this is the type of content we value the most, actionable information... SeTag being one of the primary names in Marine refitting has already garnered people's attention you can tell by the comments, do more stuff like this!
We definitely want to see the finished product, I'm curious because I spent 10 years in a home improvement industry remodeling homes with my client base, I look at boats the same way...
And the SeTag representative made a comment I agree with, the Princess boat, this particular one, had really good bones temporary hull, you could modernize the interior, save money but still be ahead of the game... if you thought to charter later.
Excellent video Nick and should be a fantastic boat when finished 🚤🛥⛵️👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Jimmy!
I don’t own a boat and probably will never be able to, but if I ever did win big on the lotto, Owning a boat will be high on my list. I think most British people have the sea in their veins. I am really looking forward to seeing this project progress Nick. Will you be giving us updates? I am sure, each episode, will get lots of views. I’m sure your subscribers, would be riveted. 👍
That's the plan! We're going to make a video of it stripped right back, and then one of the finished yacht.
@@AQUAHOLIC Brilliant 🤩
RUclips algorithyms grr, missed this. I can't wait to see what Setag can do as I know they are a sponsor of your channel. The anticipation is already killing me, going to search your channel for updates. Thanks again Nick for a great video.
Heading that way for an update very soon!
14:54 - some nice hinge action there, Nick 🙂
Wow, how exciting. Start with excellent bones on the beautiful boat and go from there. Worse part about it is we have to wait.
This is going fascinating project. From start to finish, I'm looking forward to this. Setag is top notch.
She'll be very custom once the job is finished a million pound lady of the sea.
looking forward to this Nick ! great guy as well !
Will be great to see this through its stages, and if possible nick also follow some of their smaller boat refurbishment,s.
Another great video Nick. I've been an avid follower for a long time now. These are just beautifully entertaining
Awesome, thank you!
Looking forward to the 'Muriel '
Really looking forward to seeing the progression on this project sounds like it's going to be a stunner when she's done.
Absolutely amazing Nick, thanks for taking us on tour again 😂😂.
I need to win the lottery and then I’ll be definitely having my Sealine 328 setaged 🤞
Good luck! 🤞
One of your first videos I saw was a sunseeker 82 I have 4 wishes in life 1 cure my wife's Parkinson's 2 win lotto 3 buy that sunseeker 4 deliver said boat to seatag
I can't wait to see Muriel.
That Muriel sure gets around!
I always like the view of the bow from the wheel...some don't have such good view and this one you can see everything from the flybridge
Amazing this can be purchased and renovated for half the cost of a new one!
Great idea nick , ive championed up doing up boats , however this is a step up ....!
Fascinating interview and tour - looking forward to seeing the progress and finished result. That's a big budget, but suspect the results will speak for themselves! Glad I'm not having to manage that project timeline though - time, tide and the Southampton boat show wait for no man!
Incredible! I can only imagine the nowledge and craftmanship needed for such a project; the amount of study and manwork hours (not mentioning materials). I would be very surprised if the refit cost is just north of one million pounds. I can't wait to see updates on this ambitious project! Ty for sharing your passion with us.
Always a pleasure! 🙂
