what happens if it read one code many times, i mean how we deal with duplicate reading?

Their system can identify items as independent from each other and prevents double scanning of items.

You would need to have two packers then - no use in scanning faster but not being able to pack at the same speed.

Yeah, it's a pretty stupid demo if you ask me. Where this would indeed offer a benefit is in digital reception of ordered goods from business to business or order preparation where a stationary camera and a basic roller belt can reliably scan every incoming or outgoing item. Or inventorying systems where you could inventory items a lot faster with a mobile scanner just by continuously scanning over the goods directly on shelf!

It could help reduce store theft one day, it could also have potential to scan the whole shopping cart in one go. who knows how it will develop

The items could be automatically scanned if the scanner was in the middle of the conveyor. You’d then only need a single bagger. Half the labor required now.

This wont matter. The stores are already switching to scanning with your phone as you shop to have no check out. But RFID is also another future step. They came out with this invisible barcode way too late.

Great, everything is rushed as it is already; we are going to need safety protection glasses and body armour because we are the ones packing the groceries in pur carts…. It’s going to cause some people anxiety because items are going to fly past the scanner at full speed and we will not be able to keep up with the cashier; it’s going to be like a sketch from Saturday night live!😬😵‍💫😮‍💨
