You absolutely captured the gracefulness and beauty of the lines of the hull Colley. Very reminiscent of the dorys I grew up rowing in Marblehead and very much like the classic lines of L Francis Herreschoff, B.B. Crowninshield, and Aage Nielsen designs. The brush work is tremendous too.

I don’t believe I paint Alla Prima (in one go) but I do paint wet in wet-occasionally coming back for touchups.

Timing. I use a fast drying medium, and you need to wait for the paint to tac off.
