- A short video, something I wouldn't normally do, about the failure of Arnold Clark Service Centre Aberdeen in properly servicing my car. Sent away with a dangerous vehicle and no confidence that they carried out the service to the manufacturers, or any competent mechanics, required level.
This is inspite of me telling them two simple things, still they failed, either through laziness or incompetence. Приколы
Arnold Clark are a joke, i honestly don't know where to begin with that mob.
I wouldn't even steal a car from Arnold Clarke
I had a similar frustrating experience when buying a car that turned out to have an Engine Management Light problem a few years ago now at the Inverness branch. I stay well clear now.
Also failed to spot that the tyre's casing is cracking. That's basic stuff.
You need to report the examiner and Garage to the ministry of transport
Very poor. Probably any big supermarket car chain in the UK today would be as bad.
But you always better off getting any known and obvious faults like this fixed first on a separate transaction rather than as part of an MOT. The 2 don’t mix, A/C should have advised you of this but didn’t bother and just took your car and then presented it to the MOT tester who really in all honesty did his job as he should have. What they should of done is carry out the repairs after then done a free re-test and everyone be happy.
They just don’t care and are not organised enough to do this.
Videos like this need to be posted though so others don’t waste their money. So well done you sir !
Good old Arnold Shark!
My Grandpa knew Arnold Clark personally... he always said "a bigger crook he never met".
Its not the MOT testers job to correct anything wrong with your vehicle.
They simply test the vehicle as it is presented to them.
Normally when an MOT and service is booked together the car would have the MOT first so that any failure/repair work if necessary is rectified when it goes for a service and then the vehicle is retested later on.
Also a nail in tyre if spotted would just be an advisory on an MOT anyway and a rear wiper isnt part of the MOT.
That tyre is cracking so not even worth repairing and should be replaced with a new tyre.
Rear wiper is not part of MoT but he asked for it to be replaced anyway. Also, he did ask for the tyre to be replaced, not repaired @0:40
The rules are such that they have to test the car as it was presented by the customer.
@@Strider9655 the customer asked for the tyre to be replaced. They didn't, not his fault
@@hardlinefoil7532 No, you don't understand, the car MUST be tested as presented to the garage by the customer..... No work can be carried out before the test.
Cook , is the car on warranty.
The Arnold Clark Kia dealer at Balfield St. Dundee is to be avoided too, terrible workmanship and services.
I also had a very bad experience. Two faulty cars in a row. Finally got my money back. AVOID
Your time and money would be better spent supporting small local family run businesses . £100 pre hr for low standards workmanship £50.00 per hr in small owner run garages
Arnold Shark.
What about the cracking in tyre. Not worth fixing .
Yeah I noticed that!
The MOT bloke should have given the owner an advisory on that.
Was it MOTed atall.
Dont buy anything from them , got a service at vauxhall glasgow, shocking
Pollokshaws Road 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡 never again!
I would bet that the ‘service’ was not done by a ‘senior’ technician .. senior technician would be doing diagnostic and repair works .. the servicing would more likely be done by young trainee or apprentice
If they have time, dealerships are run by salesmen, it's all about profit, targets and KPIs, the technicians often don't have enough time to carry out all the work on their schedule, because in a salesmans head you you unscrew a bolt in 20 seconds, you fit a part, you bolt it back down and you're done, BUT in the technicians world the bolt has seized and takes an hour with a blowtorch to get it to shift.
Yup you are not alone. They are terrible
Senior Citroen Technician! You should have asked to get the apprentice to have a go.....Or maybe the valeter,or Maybe the nice lady on reception......
I would say they wouldn't have checked any of the things properly on that service list, Arnold Clark must be the worst car dealership in Scotland. If you put a bit of spital or water on that nail you will see it fizzing away as the air seeps out, I would report them to DVSA for issuing an MOT on a car with a nail in the tyre, that tyre is also cracking in between the treads so even without the puncture it needs replacing...the tyre is un roadworthy and dangerous, issuing MOTs to un roadworthy vehicles could see them get their licence reviewed, if you report to DVSA there is a good chance they will look into it. The prospect of a visit from inspectors will have them shaking in their boots.
i foolishly took out 2 services when buying mine - however did not use any of them, my neighbour took his car and it came back worse off !
I'm not trying to excuse A-C, but if I had taken the wheel off and found a nail, I would have presented it to them with it circled in chalk. And being picky, it was not your rear wiper that was missing but the wiper _blade._ They probably glanced, saw the wiper arm, and looked no further - sloppy if course.
better with local small garages, they are glad of the custom and in my exprience always do the job properly,if you were in dundee i would strongly recommend pilot garage...not filled with young trainees who get left to do the job unsupervised, run by a father and son...excellent and good value
Not only did they pass the MOT with the nail still in the tyre, but the condition of the tyre is cracking also. lol
A vehicle would pass an MOT with a nail in it its an Advisory. Tyre cracking they all do it over time that would only fail an MOT if the cracking was deep enough to expose the cords
They’re no better at Inverness. Bought a new car from AC, they’re quite happy to tell untruths about everything. I’ve unbelievable tales of incompetence from these cowboys. Once they’ve sold you a car, their interest in you is over. As for servicing, they ‘miss’ doing all types of things that should be part of the service.
How about this: my car wen5 into limp mode near the dealership, so I drove straight there only to be told, and I kid you not, ‘to take my car off the premises and onto the road (a few metres) and call recovery, otherwise they couldn’t book me in’….. On what planet is this company? Avoid!
technically a smaller skinny spare can't fail an mot say your wheels are 17" x40 the temp is usually 16" x50/55 thus enabling car to sit level , width has nothing to do with it , either that the temps, car manufacturers supply would be illegal , and every time you use one a cop would book you.
wheels and tyre sizes must be matching on the axle when its going for an MOT.
Space saver tyres are used solely in an emergency situation so no cop would book you for it.
They are not for regular use.
I would never go near Arnold Shark for anything other than warranty. It's common knowledge they clock high mileage cars that haven't been MOTd. Some as much as 60,000 miles
Ya have a Citroen, get over it
avoid Arnold Clark in Leeds they rip you off
really i found there sewervice to be terrible disgusting
I went to AC in Glasgow to buy an Astra, the worst experience ever, the back of the car and the rear wheel arch had been reversed into and scratched , I was told was what can you expect for what you are paying.,I had travelled from Manchester, no-one was even interested and the manager ,Catherine was not available and I am still awaiting a call, that was 4yrs ago!!, never again would I even consider a car from this bunch.
Arnold Clark Pollokshaws Road fucked up Zafira. I had the alternator replaced, and the idiots forgot to tighten the bolts. As a result, the belt came off causing the engine to overheat.
I’ve wrote a complaint letter, but they’ve never answered back.
That was nearly 9 years ago!😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡
Arnold clark are con men everyone should sue them i have had enough of them they told me my car was running for a hour to collect it i go there and it doesn't start i ask for the name off the mechanic that worked on it and they said no what about the head who signed of the job and they said no well i said as my car is not running i will not pay as you have not provided proof that it was working i am still pursuing them as i have a paper wate in my drive i cant use
to think I'm gonna buy a car here next week . I'm having second thoughts
How was your experience since picking up your new car?
Who the fk buys a car from AC 🤣
They have to test the car as it's presented by the customer................ Them's the rules.
All these people who think they can get their car to pass by having a service done on the same day, don't listen to them they're idiots.
Arnold Clark provide a pre-mot. They did not do it, simple. Thems not the rules.
The customer takes his car to mechanics to have all necessary work done, specifically requested work (which wasn't done), and it then fails. That is not the customers fault
@@hardlinefoil7532 AC are talking shit, specifically marketing BS, they can't do any work prior to the MOT
@@Strider9655 yes they can, what rule stipulated that they cant
@@hardlinefoil7532 Vehicles have to be tested as presented by the customer, if (for example) the customer leaves the back seats down, the tester cannot put the seats up before testing it, it's really strict.
Technically speaking the only way they could rectify a fault (say a bulb) before the MOT, is if the customer carries out the repair themselves.
ALSO, doing a service before an MOT is a huge waste of time for the garage, as they're doing the same work twice AND opening themselves up to a "well you just serviced it, so it should have passed" complaint from an angry stupid customer who doesn't realise that having a service doesn't mean it's going to pass.
@@Strider9655 your totally missing a key part of this, the service centre are supposed to give the vehicle the once over, they even listed on the website specifically what they would check. The customer in fact did not present the vehicle. And you are misguided on vehicle presentation anyway, the vehicle is tested as presented( by whoever that is does not matter, customer or Arnold Clark employees)
