Oh! I love this! I have a Bn-20 that I love. This is my next big purchase. I was thinking about trying sublimation but this is perfect!
Sublimation is cool but only being about to do it on white polyester shirts suck plus polyester shirts are a pain to find sublimation can do a lot tho
You provide great information.
How are you still feeling about the BT 12 after a year? And is it hard to clean? How often do you have to clean it?
Still loving it!
Thanks. Ok what about the cleaning? I ordered one today
A few questions. What if you have a small item like a bib or onesie that won’t hang over the side of the tray to be locked down? I’m wondering approximately how many prints you can get out of the ink cartridges on average? You mention “light” colors; would that include like light pink, blue, yellow, etc.?
The tray that comes with the printer is A4 size but you can get an A5 which is half the size for smaller items. Light colored shirts are best for multi colored designs. But you can print black and darker colors on a red or blue shirt. I have printed yellow on a blue shirt. It did come out with a greenish shade but looked better with an overprint.
Will someone please share their experience and process of changing and buying ink for this specific printer? The website says you can print up to 4000 copies. 4000 shirts sound like a lot of prints but is that true? How much do the cartridges cost? It's not very clear anywhere (even the product website), unless I have missed something.
What’s the difference between this and the sawgrass chromablast printer which also does cotton?
What’s the largest size it prints and can I put a jeans pants or a jacket in there ?
The trays are A4 and A5 size
Could you do more videos with the cameo using htv and complicated designs please
what is the smallest size u can do in this dtg i seen you hold up a baby bib how does that work in the printer what holds it in place being so small
It is all done in the software and depends where you place the item on the tray. Check out all of our DTG tutorials here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/search/label/direct%20to%20garment
hello there! do you still use this machine
Hello all. Has anyone had any experience with items that are thicker than a t-shirt, such as a sweat shirt? Curious as to how thick the item can be.
Hi. I have done hoodies with this machine. The cassette has springs in it to enable you to load thicker garments. Works Well!
What’s the biggest size you can print
hi, thanks for the video. i'd like to open my own business:
- it's good for a beginners that want to start his own business in this field?
- it's ideal for print high definition photo/drawing with dimension a bit more bigger than A4?
- I must use just t-shirt "cotton 100%" and I Could use t-shirt of different color (white, black and others colors)?
thanks.
Is It same Ricoh RI 100?
yes
Hi. Will a 12 M shirt fit on the tray? Thanks Lisa
Yes I have done smaller shirts as well as things like tea towels and wine bags and bibs.
Can you only print on cotton? Or can you print on other materials?
Cotton and light colors
You can do a blend but must be at least 50% cotton.
If only this could do colored shirts it would be perfect I wish I could find one with white ink at this cost it would be great

@@SilhouetteSchool thanks looking into it now
Wait when you took the shirt out of the heater wasn’t it hot ? Or does just the shirt get hot
Its not too hot
Do you have to pre treat your blanks
No pre treat needed.
What the biggest print you can do?
11.5"x8" check out all info we have on the DTG printer here www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/search/label/direct%20to%20garment
have you got a message saying clean maintenance unit required ??
Hi there! I have not gotten that yet. Maybe contact the retailer you purchased from.
The price of replacement ink cartridges whether you use this dtg or a sawgrass sub printer are expensive and in my opinion a bit of a rip off. I was shocked at how quickly the cartridges needed replaced. For any small producer if you want to try sublimation get an Epson ecotank a4 for less than £200 or an a3 for £500/600.Buy good sub ink by the litre and it will last you for ages.Just make sure you get an ICC profile for your printer and you will print anything as good as sawgrass
To sub cotton there are polymer coatings out there that will give good results. Just saying.....
any hacks for printing on a shirt pocket only
Hi there! You could try heat resistant tape to place the design on the pocket.
Is this similar to the Ricoh RI100
I have not used it so I wouldn't be able to compare.
It’s the exact same machine
Can I print on light pink shirt?
Yes, as long as there is no white in the design
Hi I am from India I want to buy this machine what is the price of this machine in Indian rupees
Hi. The price seems to vary from country to country. I am in South Africa and I paid a 2 thirds of the US Dollar price for the complete setup and inks.
Can it print on black shirts?
It cannot do dark shirts. Only light or white shirts.
@@vegas1055 Aww, Darn it...
Please tell me all the settings of these machine
The big Question is how long do shirts last, and/or begin to show fading. The info says 20, is that enough to feel comfortable selling stuff to people knowing they are getting a quality shirt? I am seriously asking, I don't know. I am looking to invest in something however htv paper feels horrible imho, vinyl takes a long time to do (for my stuff), and I see tons of transfer issues on the white toner facebook pages, the BN-20 seems like a nice option (albeit slow I hear) however they are backordered until april 21...This seems like it has promise for light garments, however most DTG needs pretreated for a reason, so I am skeptical about longevity. Thanks for the info.
If the shirt is for short term use then its 100% but if my clients are going to be using them for long term use I just do an over print. The colours are way more vibrant and last a lot longer and the inks are very affordable as far as DTG goes. I also have a Roland SP300i and I have tried various heat transfers, but I hate the feel of HTV and all the weeding so I only do HTV on dark garments. This is so efficient and quick. From loading the cassette to finished product in less than 10 minutes a shirt with an over print.
What's an over print? Do you print twice and then put it in the oven?
@@joanaazevedo2937 Yes, You put the cassette with shirt in the printer and as soon as it finishes the first print just tell it to print one more and it will do the overprint. Then put it in the oven.
Price????
