i have always thought about this song as the finale of ct. also a mature and melodramatic end. so much longing and knowledge of understanding how life is far from perfect. it really digs my heart out every time i listen to it. this, along with frou frou foxes in the midsummer, are the best songs of ct in my opinion.( of course i love a lot more of the ct songs than just these two)
This is a song I have hardly listened to - the Twins made so much great music. It makes me sad to see so much time that has passed. This just great, so different and so full of passionate genius. God bless the Twins and all of us who love them.
There's no other band that gives me this unexplainable feeling that I get every time I listen to the Cocteau Twins. It feels like she's singing feelings, dreams, memories and lost thoughts. It's so creative and magical. Truly otherworldly. Forever grateful for its existence. Liz's voice is no less than heaven in my ears
I've never stopped listening to this since I found it a week ago,it is brilliant.I first heard the CT on John Peel in 1983 and was hooked, went out and bought their first 2 albums and the rest is history. This version blows the CD version out of the water. Thanks John Peel yer still alive and kickin
i was lucky enough to see them on stage about 10 times. The finest concert i saw was in the Zenith of Paris ( I was in the front row, just staring at Liz performing lol) her versions of Pur, Blue Bell Knoll, Carolyn's fingers were incredible, she was a bird from an other world.
I watch this every day. It still takes my breath away. The album version is really good, but this live version is supreme. Milk & Kisses is a realy good album. Much under-rated I think.
It seems like well rehearsed yet spontaneous ad libbing through and through with no two lyrical lines being the same ever...she is a very unique song bird....a treasure.....love that guitar, bass, and drum work here too....just sooo cool...
I was lucky enough to see them four times over the years. The last show was at The Arches in Glasgow in 1996 and they were truly something special that night. When Liz sang 'Pur', the word 'heavenly' almost comes close. Apt when I thought about it: the first review of them I ever read (for the album 'Blue Bell Knoll') ended with the words: " When you die and then open your eyes, if there isn't music something like this playing in the distance, you're probably on your way to the wrong place."
it is truly incomprehensible (and criminal) how music this beautiful can be passed up or ignored by the general public. In a world I can only dream of, bands like CT rule the airwaves and the modern pop climate is alive with smart melodic songs.
OH PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PULL THIS!! the sound quality is not fabulous, but this performance is so very special and moving. This is my favorite CT video on the whole site! @_@
It is so nice to hear from others who love them as deeply as I do. It's been really lonely in New Hampshire being the only one or one of a tiny, special few.
This song really transports into another deep level of subconcious cosmogony about Love and Time. Cocteau is the best band ever from the 80s dark stuff. The others are actually out of measure, too rough, too rock or too non-sense darkness.. Love to Cocteau Twins, and this song.
The power of Elizabeth Fraser's performance in this video is amazing. She looks fantastic and her vocal intensity takes you to another place. I do think that they split too early and had so much more to give. Some people disrespect the later material, but to me it was them maturing, and this proves how stunning and magical they could still be.
grandiosa cancion, te amo liz, la musica extraordinaria, el entorno, la magia de su voz, las guitarras pulidas todo, todo especial, gracias mil por este regalo
This is such an amazing song. Elizabeth Fraser wrote this song about The late Jeff Buckley (before his death) with whom she had a breif relationship in 1995. Jeff Buckley also wrote sevral songs about her on his last album "Scetches for my sweetheart the drunk", including "Everybody here wants you" and "Morning theft". They actually recorded a song together during their relationship called "All flowers in time bend towards the sun" which is also an amzing song.
I love this so much I can not explain. This is much better than the original CD version Can you please tell where I can get it. I want to hear it very very loud in my car forever.
sexpistols100, its just the passage of time &the ability to see these videos again that reminds people just how stellar they could be as a band, &mourn the fact that there has been little if anything to fill the void they finished. Its all about mystery, magic, emotion, and beauty, rare commodoties in music these days. The true spirit of the band lives on in Robin Guthrie's new stuff though, which proves where the real genius behind this band lies.
AS a pro audio engineer I can tell you, the best, truest, most moving ad uplifting music you could ever possibly imagine will never be available to you. Occasionally, acts of such erit slip through like CT, but for the most part, the worlds best music will remain in the homes and local venues of the musicians themselves, as the corporate musical world has a PATHOLOGICAL HATRED for any music that has GENUINE emotion and/or meaning. The amount of times I hear execs saying "To intelligent" etc...
Bruno
I always feel sad for people who have had an intimate and consuming relationship, who then split and are unable to connect on any level. The damage that has been done will never be known or quantified. We all make our own judgements rightly or wrongly regarding these relationships. I always pray that those affected by such issues can form some kind of peace between themselves.
WOW !!!! The last one I wish this version was on the CD, it's so perfect. When they finished I bet they said "we nailed it now lets break up and be remembered this way" not a shabby way to exit really.
I agree, I believe the E.P. format suited them quite well. I can say, I have the original period CT Box with all the CD singles, from "Lullabies" to "Dials".
Mine too, Berus7. What a way to end an album, and unfortunately, their last album. This song transports me to another world, and I do seem to feel alone there, but it's wondrous.
I love this more every time I hear it. FYI there was an interview with Liz in the Guardian newspaper Film and Media section in the UK last Friday 27th Nov.
I agree...I think this vid shows Liz at her most emotional. The extra musicians actually added depth, albeit they looked a little 'spaced' haha. Cocteau Twins have perfected something other lesser bands will never do..... Cocteau Twins are timeless and just so darn GOOD!!!!
very well, that last sentence, thats what you should have say to your self after seeing this video. good luck to you in your whole life, with your style you´re gonna need it. howgh
I have never seen Liz so confident, sure of herself and comfortable in her own skin!!! Beautiful video!!!!
i have always thought about this song as the finale of ct. also a mature and melodramatic end. so much longing and knowledge of understanding how life is far from perfect. it really digs my heart out every time i listen to it. this, along with frou frou foxes in the midsummer, are the best songs of ct in my opinion.( of course i love a lot more of the ct songs than just these two)
popeyeisgood - It does feel like the grand finale, doesnt it?! Love them....
The only thing better than listening to Elizabeth Fraser and Cocteau Twins is watching her too. Beautiful voice and beautiful woman.
This is a song I have hardly listened to - the Twins made so much great music. It makes me sad to see so much time that has passed. This just great, so different and so full of passionate genius. God bless the Twins and all of us who love them.

Liz Frazer, you transport me, pure and simple.

almost unbearably, searingly beautiful performance - incredible, gorgeous sound - way beyond wow - love this
What an incredible vocal performance. She looks quite mystical with those flying saucer sized pupils.
i was lucky enough to see them on stage about 10 times. The finest concert i saw was in the Zenith of Paris ( I was in the front row, just staring at Liz performing lol)
her versions of Pur, Blue Bell Knoll, Carolyn's fingers were incredible, she was a bird from an other world.
After all these years,...still I'm moved to tears by the way she sings & the music goes along with it.
oh....this one is so beautiful
I watch this every day. It still takes my breath away. The album version is really good, but this live version is supreme. Milk & Kisses is a realy good album. Much under-rated I think.
It's one of my favorite Cocteaus' songs. I love when Liz is that animated, just living and breathing music. Awesome.
Incrivelllllllllll! Emociona e intriga ao mesmo tempo!
It seems like well rehearsed yet spontaneous ad libbing through and through with no two lyrical lines being the same ever...she is a very unique song bird....a treasure.....love that guitar, bass, and drum work here too....just sooo cool...

Her eyes... seeing to another world
she is the best singer of all times....anyone sing like her and she is the essence of the human soul transed in sound........i love her!!!
literally as powerful as a piece of music gets... right HERE.
Sounds like another dimension...an especials state of music, emotional and dreamy.
Just love this.
i love thsi song. love the back catalogue, this is one of the best.
I never knew any other music so true, emotional and beautiful after i got to now them...shear love and pleasure
OMG they r the best when yu feel like lonely.., i just love them! this is one of my favorites of all times.
It breaks my heart and yet I love what I hear more and more. I am only human. God bless to all.
These guys never got enough credit, what freakin awesome talent! They should have won a ton more awards than they did!
This song has always been one of my C.T. faves so watching this live performance just blew my mind. Wow.Many thanks for posting.
good heavens this HAS to be the most CATHARTIC song ever written and performed. C/T is IT, bay-beh!
i'm nearly brought to tears everytime i watch this...simply beautiful
it is truly incomprehensible (and criminal) how music this beautiful can be passed up or ignored by the general public. In a world I can only dream of, bands like CT rule the airwaves and the modern pop climate is alive with smart melodic songs.
The best performance of this song... ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, it chokes me up... I was lucky enough to see these guys at the Guthrie here in Minneapolis
ethereal, sublime touches in the innermost core of my being. i can't explain...
OH PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PULL THIS!!

I love this song so much! Liz frasier has such a haunting voice.

Man do I love this group. So creative, stuff of dreams.

Liz sei immensa, sei la stella più luminosa del firmamento!!!
This is perfection. They recorded a version of this for the bbc on COCTEAU TWINS BBC SESSIONS.
Beauty unique guitar riff.Fantastic song.Cool

I want to hear it very very loud in my car forever.
I'm speechless, I don't know how to describe what this makes me feel
Groovy - Liz looking fierce!
Beautiful, with every tone nailed. Incredible sounds. :-)
Well said, electrocamel. I've felt the same way with this particular live version and, for the most part, every Cocteau Twins recording.
Such sacred and vivid songs! How can we not be moved?
Why are we not making real music anymore, world?
...*weeps~`

I miss then too!!! Thanks a lot for this video. Please don´t take this video away.
Their lyrics are great.
Cocteau..Heaven.Eli,celestial voice!

andreaneilcmc I can only recommend you to read Arch of Triumph by Erich Maria Remarque.
I love the way she drops her shoulder before she starts to sing. Reminds me of Jimmy Johnstone in his heyday..
WOW !!!! The last one
I wish this version was on the CD, it's so perfect. When they finished I bet they said "we nailed it now lets break up and be remembered this way" not a shabby way to exit really.

it's absolutely moving...a little pearl.
brilliant! i miss them.....
This is really beautiful music
even the afterTHOUGHT of this performance makes me weep!
my heavens, there will simply never be another LIZ FRASER.
Very much under-rated .
I doubt they will cut another album but we can always dream can't we ?
Mine too, Berus7. What a way to end an album, and unfortunately, their last album. This song transports me to another world, and I do seem to feel alone there, but it's wondrous.
i could listen to her forever...
Thank you for sharing this!!!
I have a kind of feeling:
Who will love seeing this kind of singers like cocteau ?
The anwser is we like me.
I love this more every time I hear it. FYI there was an interview with Liz in the Guardian newspaper Film and Media section in the UK last Friday 27th Nov.

This is so intensive...i like them very much. Oh and she is alien just like me.
They weren't always able to communicate live what they could on studio albums, but dammit, they were great this time!
Just wonderful
Her singing just breaks my heart
(in a good way)
Downloaded! Thank u!
Whatever happened to real and great music like this? its all over, so sad.
Effing brilliant! Wish they lasted for ever. I hate the stereotype, but *yes*, one of the greatest bands ever.
Simon+Lizbeth+Robin...May The Infinite Father God of Love and Holiness bee wit' "U" ALWAYS.
very well, that last sentence, thats what you should have say to your self after seeing this video. good luck to you in your whole life, with your style you´re gonna need it. howgh
The best band ever. Enough said.
