    Thank you for the tutorial, I just wanted to mention and ensure that you can use "C4d Shader node" and connect it into the "RS Area light" by using "RS Texture node" between them,
    C4d Shader+ RSTexture+Arealight node
    I hope this would be useful,

    9:33 SOLVED PROBLEM: If you in newest version of C4D in the first glance you might not see shader graph. Just click button in upper place of box create>materials>c4d shader. EDIT it doesn't work either bc i should edit object (lighting) not color

    awesome work! i was thinking that there could be also some detail in the glasses, they are all white in your renders, or would that be unrealistic?

    Tried making this in Octane but it´s seems impossible. Made an hdri with a gradient but the shadows are getting too soft and grey. I set env color to black in Octane.

    Great technique. I wonder is there a way to do the same with Redshift in Houdini? Wouldn't be able to find a node editor for lights in there.

    what are advanetes to using HDRI in a first ppace conpare to area Lights ?

    • @lukasthorup
      @lukasthorup  Год назад +1

      I think it's the same, but for me it's a good starting point, where I can just rotate the hdri, to get the starting look, and then add on to it

    I tried to follow along with v2025.1.1 and got completely lost... "c4d shader" is gone?

    • @lukasthorup
      @lukasthorup  26 дней назад

      @youragain yeah, you have to use the UI for the shader or make a gradient texturein photoshop. that you can import into the light texture slot

    • @youragain
      @youragain 26 дней назад

      Thanks. Making it in photoshop seems like a lot of back & forth with trial & error. What do you mean make it with the UI? How? (I’m learning Redshift from scratch…)

    15:38 - "it's just trial and error" not if you actually know what you are doing. No need for trial and error if you understand the angles you are working with and how to bounce light.
    Making a tutorial video about how to guess is weird. I was hoping to learn something cool and new, but no. Just another young designer that seems to be more interested in appearing like a designer than being one. Spent all that money on a DSLR camera, lighting and microphone just to produce content where he is just guessing at what should be done.
