So I've been doing thinking as I've been in this position as well with immediately jumping back into trades after a stop. The best thing I've found is if you FORCE yourself to stop and zoom out. When I stop looking at the LTF after getting stopped out, the urge to revenge trade dies down a little. It won't go away immediately or completely, but it's helped me get get out of that tunnel vision mindset. Sucks man, trust me I know the pain. But I promise if you take that first loss and just zoom out to the 15m, 30m, or 1h your mind will sober up a bit and give you a better opportunity to find a better trade. Stay strong man and don't let anyone give you that feeling that you can't make it!
Nice to see another trader being transparent and reflecting on losses in a positive manner. Just remember, the slump will end just got to make it through these times in the market. Wishing you the best of luck trading in 2024! (P.S. I love the Mark Douglas book on the desk)
Yeah it’s definitely a psychological battle. i know that I have great trade placements but I end up in too early sometimes too when I don’t want to “miss the move” lately I’ve just been setting notifications for when it gets to my area of interest. Whatever that may be, then I place a trade depending on the speed and price action. Still a newbie myself but you got it bro!
