Fedex Ground drivers are employed by third party contractors. While Fedex Express drivers are employed by Fedex directly. When this merger happens the Express drivers will also be employed by contractors. This merger is nothing more than Fedex finding a way to reduce their own workforce. By decreasing their workforce they will be able to save money, by providing health insurance and benefits to fewer people. Our useless news media doesn't seem to have realized this. On top of all that the contractors own the delivery vans as well as the tractor trailers that move freight from hub to hub. Which means Fedex isn't liable for road accidents or property damage, putting the cost 100% on the contractors and insurance companies. I used to deliver packages for a Fedex Ground contractor. I was paid the same exact flat rate every day, instead of an hourly wage. So my paycheck would always be for the same amount, regardless of whether I worked 40 hours or 50+ hours in a week. Fedex really needs to be exposed for their shady business practices!

Can't believe FedEx is not looking at what happened to DHL and the domestic market. They will lose the brand when they contract out. Those contractors pay crap wages resulting in crap employees.
@@johndoe-by4up Good for you man. I'm telling you that ground crap is back breaking work. Now. They're expecting you guys to have the numbers as UPS and yet pay close to $20 less an hour? I agree with somebody's comment earlier. Express can't even afford to keep people in their own markets. Now you think you're going to get away with giving them UPS style work and expecting them to work for $17 an hour?

Fed Ex Express drivers make double what Fed Ex Ground drivers make. I am an Express Courier and I made 60k a year, plus benefits and paid vacation. I am not sure why anyone would want to work for Ground?
I’m a fed ex ground driver. I make 1,200 a week in NM. Haven’t been here a year yet but after taxes I take about 980 a week. No benefits tho. After a year I do get paid vacation tho and I do have PTO available if needed that’s about it.

@MackOfTheYear 75 percent of fedex trucks don't have AC and alot of the newer trucks don't and won't have them to save cost but yes some of them do. But with the merging alot of rules are changing and have changed.. engine's will now have to be turned off bulk doors closed ect..
I've driven for both. Both have challenges in there own way. Ups does more packages in a smaller area whereas fed ex will do a lot more driving. The weight of the packages is a lot less at ups where at fed ex you can have a 15 piece sofa set. All in all both companies require hard woe and like anywhere else. You gave drivers that have a lot and you have drivers who don't. My suggestion in the heat. Lay off alcohol. Eat fruits veggies and protein with water. You start to feel woozy do your best to get some side. And move at a sustainable pace if your workload let's you
How about reward the drivers, anyone who’s been a ground driver for a few years know our pay has been decreased, or the pay is the same and do about 25% more work.
Amazon lowered driver age to 18. Ground and Amazon running out of low wage fools..UPS high pay incredibly low turnover at driver. Pay up or boxes will sit in warehouse
Is this a reason for FedEx's slower deliveries? I was expecting a package on the 8th and now it won't be delivered until the 12th! Never experienced this with FedEx before.
So we have big news at FedEx affecting management drivers and stock holders. But let’s talk about a guy who got heat stroke. I swear stupid people can never stay on topic.
Whenever the FedEx guy calls up I'm fumbling with the phone cuz it's locked, that darn lock🎉 And he walks away when I finally turn on speaker doggone!!!!🎉
We need a military draft with exemptions for certain workers, boom labor shortages gone over night. No one want to get drafted so they will immediately go to war in a draft. Make it to where if they get fired for disciplinary issues they immediately get drafted. Problems solved.

Well said 👏
Thank you!!!!!
I've been saying the same thing for years.
Unfortunately, I'm still here, barely holding on to this job!!!!!
FedEx should be required to be under the same Union rules as UPS
Will be interesting to see as everything is becoming contracted...
These are millions of jobs lost….but hey the shareholders are taken care of
FedEx can be unionized under the national Labor relations board now
Let's hope so.
