me touching grass after 5 years felt surreal, like a distant memory of freedom, but I knew I didn't belong out there, I was a fat slob, miserable and ugly, my only solace was in the darkness of my house, playing League of Legends, I dragged myself back inside, shutting the door on the world
the basement was my sanctuary, a place where I could hide from the judgment and scorn, the smell of old food and sweat was comforting, a reminder of my isolation, I chained myself to my chair, not out of necessity, but as a ritual of self-loathing and confinement, the glow of my screen was the only light I allowed
I played endlessly, fingers greasy and sore, the game was my escape, but also my torment, every loss was a reminder of my failure, every win a fleeting moment of hollow triumph, the walls around me felt like they were closing in, mold growing in the corners, a mirror of the decay within me
weeks turned into months, time became meaningless, I barely ate, only enough to keep my body alive, I wanted to waste away, the isolation was suffocating, but I knew I deserved it, I was my own captor, my mind a prison of despair, my screams were silent, echoing only in my head
my dreams were haunted by memories of the outside world, sunlight, fresh air, things I could no longer touch, they mocked me, those memories, showing me what I could never have, I stared at my reflection in the darkened screen, a bloated, pale figure, a shadow of a human being, the person I once was, long gone
loneliness weighed heavy on me, crushing my chest, my heart, my soul, the only sounds were the faint whispers of the game, taunting me, reminding me of my pathetic existence, the days of gaming, once a comfort, now a constant reminder of my self-imposed exile
every day blurred into the next, my mind a haze of despair and longing, my spirit broke, the basement was my prison, my tomb, the suffocating isolation my only companion, the whispers in my head grew louder, telling me I was forgotten, lost to the world, that no one would ever come for me
hope was a distant memory, snuffed out by the relentless darkness, I knew there would be no rescue, no miraculous escape, only the cold, lonely end in this self-made hell, my mind was a prison within a prison, every thought a dagger, every memory a curse
I was nothing, no one, entombed in my own filth and despair, my existence a testament to the cruelty of my own mind, and in that basement, in the darkness, I waited for the end, knowing that even in death, there would be no peace, only the eternal echo of my own misery:

Thank you so much! Typically what I do is record my screen on OBS, and then I export that file into Microsoft Clipchamp. I just use the free version and resize the image, as well as add in a little bit of fade to the start and beginning of the video.

How long did it take you to learn to compose music like this?

Hi! Sorry for the late response. I have been playing instruments for quite a short time in comparison to other composers, only around 5 years. I have been using FL Studio to produce for approximately 7 or so years.

This the kinda stuff I wanna make on fl, instead I always end up making an actual beat that I think could be better, is there any tips to get better at composing, or is it just practicing

Hi, I hope your day is well! Whenever it comes to making beats, compositions, or just music in general, I believe that experimenting with a multitude of different genres, sounds, and plugins is one of the most important things that you can do to widen your knowledge on what sounds good to you and what doesn't. When I sit down to make something, anything, I always keep in the back of my mind that whatever I'm about to make doesn't necessarily have to sound good, rather I'm simply doing something that I genuinely love, and that it is okay if the end product isn't something that I enjoy, because I am content and grateful for the process of making something. In my opinion, all music is subjective to the individual that hears it, and if you've made something that YOU genuinely enjoy, then that's all that matters.
As for some tips to help out with that, I would highly recommend saving anything that you make, and dedicating some time to go back and look at all of the things that you didn't finish/saved for a later date. Some of my most favorite creations have been projects from years ago that I forgot about. I would also recommend to challenge yourself to make a song in a particular key with a particular scale. It might be counter intuitive to my point above, but I find it great fun to confine myself to a scale and simply see what your mind can come up with. I believe that if you try this and stick with it, then you will sincerely surprise yourself. I hope this helps, and let me know if you'd be interested in a video where I show my process on creating. Have a good day!

@@covader that’s an awesome response:) thank you for takin the time to let me know about how you do it/ how it just needs to be something I enjoy and can be proud of and if not that it’s alright. Gonna keep your comment in the back of my mind next time I give it a go and I’ll just see what happens, and def gonna give making one in a certain key/scale a go as well, again thank you and I’d love to see how you create them! Cheers fr
