    It’s a damn shame most haven’t even heard of this much less watched it. I also imagine many young people don’t even know who Brian Willson is much less what he means to rock n roll and all modern music!

    I'm the first comment? OK. As much of a Beach Boy fan as I was as a kid in the sixties, I have not seen this flick in its entirety. Now I'm stuck watching RUclips trying to piece it together. At least it's quiet in here, without distractions, and I can watch it on my own terms. Best of all, it's FREE!

    So why didn't they use the actor who played younger Brian to play older Brian? Never got why Cusack was in this.

      I think it was more impactful to have an older actor portraying older Brian also John did a great job

    The young guy is great but why John Cusack? I don't get it. Literally nothing like him.

      Agreed, looks nothing like him, AT all.

      Appearance is secondary to talent. Both Paul Dano and John Cusack NAILED it.

      @@thomaspappalardo7589 Nah appearance matters. I had to keep reminding myself I was watching a biopic about Brian Wilson.

      @@RosieHarp Then you’re less concerned about the story and more about visual representation. If that person successfully inhabits the character and brings the portrayed person exceptionally well to the screen, their resemblance is secondary.

    • @RosieHarp
      @RosieHarp 4 месяца назад

      @@thomaspappalardo7589 It didn't ring true, nothing about him said Brian Wilson to me. It needs to be believable visually then one can become absorbed in the story.
      Entertainment is subjective. You enjoyed Cusack, I didn't.
      Paul Dano however was superb.

    Brian was a strapping, handsome hunk as a young guy and had more charisma than god. But, the actor has a face like a dog, zero charisma and no body whatsoever.
    As for Cusack, he's a good actor, but sports a slightly receding hairline.
    Wilson's trademark is his thick strong hairline. The director should have had a wig on Cusack.
