    How many finishing coats did you use to ensure toughness of the design?

    Do you use 2 soft on the Nike cleats that have that weird coating over the knitted material?

    • @DeJesusCustomFootwear
      @DeJesusCustomFootwear  Год назад +1

      I’m only if the knitted part is exposed.. if it’s covered then no.

    So I've recently started customizing cleats, and prepping the swoosh scares me. I see in this video you airbrushed right over it. Is there any concern about the paint sticking to the original swoosh? I have been taking it off, and adding the swoosh directly on to the cleats. Does the adhesion promoter help the paint stick to whatever material the swoosh is made out of?

    Amazing how u transform the hell out of those cleats. Great job like always Dillion. Definitely would pay for a class like this in The Bronx. Thanks a bunch 4 the lesson.

    Hey I’m doing a pair of Adizero football cleats right now, and was wondering if after the adhesion promoter, should I be painting all layers of the cleat from start to finish within the same day, or is it okay just to apply an airbrushed angelus base layer, and do the subsequent layers in the following days? I had some paint slide off the smooth upper heel area (above the plastic) and started wondering if the adhesion promoter acts upon all layers or really just the first? I sanded and acetate/deglazed the heck out of those babies. Thank you!

      Really jus the first layer because then the promoter is completely covered

    Im honestly over painting Nikes. They're a terrible canvas. Having to deal with the amount of stupid layers they use and trying to get a vinyl stencil to lay right on them is such a waste of time. The amount of paint that leaks threw your stencil because of the stupid layers is so frustrating. Stan Smith Adidas, now that's a canvas.

      Probably try to switch up the workflow. Literally never ever happens to me

      Every vinyl stencil you've ever laid over top of a changing layer depth has never leaked paint? lol. Wow impressive. It has happened to me on basically every pair of Nikes I've done. I cant get a vinyl stencil to take to the edge of a layer. It just pops up between layers, I push it down, stretch the vinyl, heat up the vinyl, and it will still pop back up. @@DeJesusCustomFootwear

      You literally mention this issue in your Multi-Layer Masterclasss video and your fix is to just use more tape to help hold the edge down. But even in your video you can clearly see even after you used more tape there is still a dark gap between the two layers. I too used more tape to help keep edge down and it often doesn't work as well. Not sure why you wanted to pretend like you've never had this super common issue occur but Im sure it has something to do with your relationship with Nike. @@DeJesusCustomFootwear
