That neon drumkit sounds exactly like the stuff I was looking for but I don't see it on garageband iOS so I'll have to make do some other way for these awesome retro toms!

I recommend 80’s synth lead
Great video Dean! I had a question, which synth on garage band would you recommend to recreate the synth in 'No Happy Ending' by The Score?
I can smell it
i can’t find the dynamic swell keyboard
Lol! Dead-on.
The Molokai Melodies preset is also great.
Agreed! -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 you guys' presets videos are very helpful for us Gband lads btw.
@@gabrielshiu Glad to hear, thanks! -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 Anotha one: it's nice to see us Christians represented in media!
Don’t know why people think that music in the 80s was cheesy. I loved it.
Hey Don, I actually really like it too :P -Dean
Oh thanks! Searched for this so long time. Can you also add the settings of guitar sound and dynamic swell?
So glad it was helpful Dmitry! Help me clarify :_) Are you asking if you can add the sound of dynamic swell to a guitar or play your guitar and have it sounds like the dynamic swell? -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 I just asked how to make those instruments sound like they sounds in your video. But I spent few hours in GB and finded out how to do that. So, never mind)
@@dmitrykhrapunenko4102 Gotcha! Glad you found it. As for the sounds I actually used the stock sound on everything I showed (but the vocals, where I added a few more plugins like I show in the video) so once you click on those sounds they should sound the same immediately! -Dean
Man! Fuckin cool!;)
Can you please either make another 80s sounds videos demonstrating the right amount of gains, tone, treble etc? Or tell me how much? Because I love making stuff with that awesome 80s sound as well. But im not sure what amount of all I just mentioned should be used. Please brother im in need of help when it comes to this. Thanks so much brother. PSALMS 33 VERSE 3!!!.
Ok I’m a noob I’ll admit it. But I’m having a hard time finding these sounds on my iPad version of Garage band. Is there a difference?
Amazing username, 80s FOR THE WIN
i can’t find some of these sounds ( like big hair) any tips?
Hey Omar! My first guess would be to update your sound library which you can do by going to the GarageBand drop down menu (in the top left hand side of the screen) then hover over Sound Library and then click on "Download All Available Sounds". This should update you with all of the sounds that GarageBand makes available to you! -Dean
man how do you make the chip tune lead at 3:00? that's lit and melodic!
Hey Remix 64! I am using the stock Chip Tune lead patch and then just playing 3 descending notes one right after the other (called an arpeggio). Hope that helps! -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 What's it called?
👌🏻
Great Song! Im trying to create some of my own... kind of hard keeping on tempo haha. What did you set for your bpm and the key? Thanks!
Hey Ian, thanks man! And I hear you :). The speed and key of the song really depends on each unique song but for the one in this video I was at 105 BPM in the key of D. C and G are also good, easy starting keys. Something that might help with staying on tempo is creating a "Drummer" track (even if you delete it later) and trying to play along with GB's drummer, as for me it easier to follow a drum beat than a clicking sound. Hope that helps Ian! -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 Thanks! this helps a lot!
@@ianxander216 you're welcome Ian, glad to help! -Dean
I wish to meet you👍
Is there 80s sounds In GarageBand iOS
How the hell did you do the drums! Even with the presets, they’re still so clean. Please message!
Hey Kenny! I really didn't do anything unique to it, I just used the stock Neon kit man! It comes pre processed and sounds awesome straight out of the box! Hope that helps Kenny! -Dean
How do you get dynamic swell in GarageBand android or iOS device
Did you have to download those plugins or have some other type of software you're using along with garageband? I can never seem to find the other plugins you're referring to, bugged me for years.
Hey Lexa! Everything I used in this video came stock with GarageBand. You might start by selecting a track that you want to add effects/plugins to and then hit B on your typing keyboard to bring up the mix window. In the left hand side of that window you should see a drop down menu that says "Plug-Ins" which you can click and it drops down to show you little slots where you can add plugins (compression & EQ are already there). When you click on an empty slot a library of options come up! Let me know if that helps or not Lexa! -Dean
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 Dean you're awesome! I've used Garageband for ... shit... 5 years now.. i mostly used to use Protools and Studio One before but Garageband was nice whenever i got a new MAC so I am going to follow this step by step when i open up Garageband...
I literally only ever accidentally seem to find it haha.
Thank you SO MUCH! for going out of your way!
@@thesongwritingstudio5783 one thing i did notice when i got Garageband was the plethora of 80's sounds bc i sometimes make filmscore stuff that sounds like it's from a 1984 horror film and blend it in with my albums. So i was super excited for all the sounds it came with!!!
@@LexaTerrestrialx ha very nice and no problem Lexa! -Dean
@@LexaTerrestrialx Yeah no doubt, there's a tons of cool 80's/retro sounds in GB. There's been a surge of those kinds of sounds in modern pop music and GB has been matching that with the sounds they offer in the software!
hey is the neon drum kit on garage band on the phone?
Hey Piggzoi, I don't know actually? If it's not then I know that they have other retro style drums kits available! -Dean
*DYNAMIC SMELL*
ha indeed :P
what effects are on the chip tune lead
Hey Taki, I don't know exactly, you would have to hit "B" on your typing keyboard to see! -Dean
How i contact you
Remove the words “kind of” from your speech and see how much better your videos flow
I kind of disagree.
stai zitto
So you played your guitar through the Big Hair Harmonics?
Yes indeed! -Dean
Hi music lovers, I’m new on GarageBand and becoming limited with the sounds. Does anyone have a safe site to download plugins for Mac ?
Hey there! First, I will say that GB has quite the sizable library of sounds & plugins! You can make sure you have all of the sounds made available to you in GB by updating to the latest version of GB as well as going to the GarageBand drop down menu, hovering over "Sounds Library" and clicking "Download All Available Sounds". Beyond that, if you think you need even more sounds then you can get all of Logic Pro's sounds/loops by downloading MainStage ($30) which I did a video on here ruclips.net/video/YrqAvAQjYEI/видео.html ... hope that helps! -Dean
