On the subject of trash, it's genuinely heartwarming to enjoy trash on the holidays because you can both laugh at it like the genuine piece of garbage it is, but also have a great time because both of you do truly enjoy it. I remember getting a Spongebob Plug and Play that was for the Fry Cook games. Sure, it was basically like owning a licensed-properties version of a Genesis as a kid, but my god did me and my family play the hell out of it when we had time for it. It got more usage than any other plug and play I owned as a kid, and while the games are kinda trash in comparison to what we're spoiled with, I think people should give these pieces of trash a second look not for their quality, but remembering how they had trash many years ago and still enjoyed it regardless. That said, I'd never wish Hunt down the Claus man on the top of the naughty list.
I have a Star Wars Plug and Play console that’s shaped like the Milennium Falcon. Probably the most memorable part of that package is a Street Fighter-esque game called “Lightsaber Duel” which has Luke, Obi-Wan, Vader, and Palpatine as playable characters. Like actual fighting games, each character has their own special moves... but I very quickly lost the manual that detailed all the button combos. I doubt the manual is archived anywhere online, since the console was manufactured in the first decade of the new millennium (I think) and it was probably rather cheap.

I think there was that Dante's Inferno game a few years ago, though, admittedly, it's pretty far removed from anything you'd actually find in the Bible. haha
For the trilogy, I recommend Kill the Santa. It's a stationary sniper FPS where you kill clones of Santa running around this village. There isn't much too it. The "levels" are just different vantage points of the same village, but you can buy different weapons the more you play and earn a high score. Standard upgrades for weapons, but they do have a fun harpoon and crossbow that liven things up a bit. You can even snipe gifts out of Santa's hands or kill sleighborne Santa's and their reindeer. I honestly found it to be surprisingly therapeutic for the holiday season.

I was always curious about Catechumen, as a kid my family would go to a nearby Christian store (was mostly a bookstore but they did have other stuff, card games, dvds, cds, etc) and they had it. Almost bought it a couple times cause I was hoping it was an RPG. Now I can finally see what it is. Civvie always bringing the good content.
I thought I recognized the sound of the energy blasts from the baddies in Catechumen; it's the same sound as the tachyon gun from Wing Commander III and IV. Now THAT takes me back!

about the sword thing, and this is easily just me overthinking it, but if you were michael of gabriel or raphael or whoever and you were gonna give an iron age dude a holy-zapgun would you give him something that looks like a gun, something he has no frame of reference to understand whatsoever? Personally I’d give them a crossbow, which can actually be aimed at what you want to hit and is actually a ranged weapon.

I think there was that Dante's Inferno game a few years ago, though, admittedly, it's pretty far removed from anything you'd actually find in the Bible. haha
For the trilogy, I recommend Kill the Santa. It's a stationary sniper FPS where you kill clones of Santa running around this village. There isn't much too it. The "levels" are just different vantage points of the same village, but you can buy different weapons the more you play and earn a high score. Standard upgrades for weapons, but they do have a fun harpoon and crossbow that liven things up a bit. You can even snipe gifts out of Santa's hands or kill sleighborne Santa's and their reindeer. I honestly found it to be surprisingly therapeutic for the holiday season.

I was always curious about Catechumen, as a kid my family would go to a nearby Christian store (was mostly a bookstore but they did have other stuff, card games, dvds, cds, etc) and they had it. Almost bought it a couple times cause I was hoping it was an RPG. Now I can finally see what it is. Civvie always bringing the good content.
