Hello, yes I believe it has to do with how Japanese brands were perceived back in the 80s in the USA. It was smart marketing for Toyota, Honda, and Nissan to branch off with Luxury tiers of their main brand like Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti respectively. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about how Lexus is viewed in Japan! Cheers! 😎🙌
No one thinks they are a different company. I argue that most people understand that Toyota makes Lexus. However, they are NOT the same cars. A Lexus definitely has more quality features, higher quality stitching and material used inside of the car, the engine is quieter, and the paint options are better.
Do y'all take your luxury cars anywhere else other than the dealership's service shops to save money? I'd love to hear your recommendations, let me know! Thanks again and May the Schwartz Be With You!
Lovely video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Parlandealey Vanish Ringworm Process (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good one off product for revealing how to repair your vehicle without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got excellent success with it.
Always avoid the dealership, that's why I started making "how to" videos because the dealerships are crooks!! $80 isn't bad at all, I have a local tire shop that does it for $40 on a laser aligner but I feel like it's rare to find an alignment for sub $80
Yeah man for sure! I took my Toyota to my dealer since 2009 so my tech there will shoot me straight if there is a cheaper option. There is also a euroshop in town that has done work on my Volvo at a much cheaper rate than Volvo. $40 is a great price for alignment. I’ll keep an eye out the next time this car needs alignment! 👀
this is exactly why i bought this lexus. it is a luxury car with the perks of an economy car. ... when this car does need maintenance (lexus es350 never needs maintanence tho...) i can take it to toyota like its a camry and know the car will keep running good as new for another 100k miles.
In Germany this doesn't work. I tried this at Toyota dealer. There is a paper for each car . You have to take it to them . Once they add those data into the system boom they give you Lexus price even in Toyota dealer .
I don't know if this will help here in Hawaii because everyone thinks Toyotas are made of gold. A 2000 Toyota Tacoma shitbox is worth more than any 2000-2010 luxury car here. I've never seen higher prices for Toyotas, no matter the mileage! Hell, I just bought a 2012 Lexus is250 for cheaper than I can get a 2012 Camry, and it's the same car basically!! That Toyota badge is priceless.
@@DavidSchwartzjr No big deal, change the spark plugs, change the oil. make sure everything is like it should and sound like it should.. you save mad money man, (for more watches)

I have an IS and I take the car to the five minute stay in car oil change and Toyota for repairs and alignments. I’ll never go to Lexus unless I know it’s a warranty issue.
Wow, what a big difference! There's definitely some things worth having the dealer handle imo, but brakes for 2-4x the cost is not one of them! Glad you got other quotes first! 😎🍻👍
I take mine to the Toyota dealer and pay at least half what the Lexus dealer charges for the same service. My service at the Toyota dealer is entered on the Lexus service record on the Lexus owners page on Lexus' website. I'm not paying for the Lexus Owners lounge and gourmet coffee and the lady who bakes cookies and biscottis. Regular coffee and a comfortable chair is all I need.
Hey there Danny! Absolutely! I have a 2018 RX that is under its last “complimentary” maintenance being an L-certified purchase. After that I’ll be taking it to Toyota for follow up maintenance. Still taking my RC to Toyota for anything needed. 😎👍
I have a 2015 IS 250 F sport and I’m currently at 35k miles. Toyota quoted me $380 for oil change, brake fluid exchange, cabin air filter, engine air filter and several other simple inspections. Haven’t spoke to Lexus but I’m sure, they will charge more.
The brake fluid change and oil change are the ones I personally wouldn’t do myself but yeah Toyota should be much cheaper than Lexus. The engine air filter and cabin air filter are super easy to replace. I always put a K&N engine filter in when it’s time to to replace it and I buy the cabin air filters for cheap on Amazon. 😎👍
How’s the reliability on it been? I’ve heavily considering getting a 2015 IS 250 F-Sport but I’m a little worried about maintenance and maintenance cost. I know it’s a glorified Toyota but still, how are the usual costs going?
@@BallerMcBallersonn Purchased the car at the dealer In 2015 with 18 miles on it and I’m at 39,000 as of today. I’m Japanese. In Japan Lexus is a type of car sold by Toyota. Here in US people seemed to think they are different company. 😊
