Well, I think that was the driver's weapon. He was sitting on it or had it beside his butt. Was possibly havin bad thots about usin it on the officer or himself. Glad it worked out without someone dying.

The officers touch the back of the vehicles as they are waking up on it to leave fingerprints.....an invisible "tag" in case things go really bad and the fingerprints show that that was the actual vehicle involved.
So that when it is located later the driver can't deny that it was the right car involved.
Amazing that the drivers make that much difference over horsepower.
Also, do the Hellcats come with run flat tires? Pretty sure the GSP units do. So while you don't want to run 160 on semi flat tires at least you mite not crash out after the stop stix.
Sorry for long comments....PTSD and me. Over 40yrs of law enforcement, medic and military contractor. Probly over 100 pursuits and a few shootouts.
Like you say, it's best not to run. Especially if it's actually your ride. Police have a year to prosecute you on misdemeanor charges. Longer on some felonies. Forever on murder obviously.

Well, it happens tho not supposed to. The "pig" comment doesn't help anybody. YOU don't like derogatory names thrown at you and neither do police officers. Plus you are labeling all officers with it. Just like folks label entire race when they use the bad terms.
I'm 69 and dying and grew up in one of most racist areas in this country but even as little kid I didn't like how some words felt when referring to certain people even tho some were the only words I knew. Yep, I used em some but have NEVER called someone these names to their faces to insult them. Have suffered for that on occasion over the years. Easier to get in habit of not using certain names so you don't accidentally use em in wrong place....like when you are the only white dude in situation where you are the ONLY white dude in crowd of other color folks.
Doesn't hurt to show respect.....ever.
When disrespect can get you killed.
