- Perioperative Services Director Mark Emodi takes us way behind the scenes to Sterile Processing. It’s an area few get to see, but it’s a vital part of Nebraska Medicine and a big reason our ORs are as successful as they are.
This is absolutely amazing!!! I had no idea what happens to make operations possible and safe!!!! Thank you all!! 🎉
GREAT JOB!!! The best and most thorough explanation of sterile processing. I also LOVE that the director of periop knows SPD sooo well!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!
Exactly!!! I love my mini career. However, off to the radiology department I go since I love the fact that they have different modalities I can cross train into and get different registrations underneath my belt along with having that direct patient care
informative overview thank you

Very cool to learn what goes on behind the scenes!

That is on ground floor of clarkson tower
Will hospitals hire you out of school? All I see in California is Certification but also with one year of experience required in job ads. Kind of hard to get if you are starting a new career.
Striate out of high school, I became a sterile Processing Tech
I have a question when I used to work with sterilization you had to wear, Facemask and gloves and was in a clean room waiting for products to cool so they could be bagged and sent out so they would be ready for use. So is this no longer the case or just for this production?
Is this a good introduction job if im interested in becoming a surgical tech? Im also in Nebraska so this is interesting to watch
Yes, I work for Kaiser as a sterile processing tech (8 years) and am looking to move to surgical tech. You learn all the instruments and what they are used for. You learn to assembly and un assemble trays. SPM is the tracking device they are using. We have that to. The OR has the same. Its to track the tray and what tech built it and follows the tray all the way through the OR.
Yes
Wondering if anyone in SPD works at a hospital where SPD techs also are responable for transporting patients from the floor to Pre op?where I work whoever is picking casesalso gets called to transport.
Is that a real thing or are you trolling?
What are hours like
Ministries while his emotions to hospital and children in China is okay with under the right he is America
Depends on where you work.

Sue, Katy, Lesley and You Great team ! If you have time please, take a look of some home made mask ( for covid 19) videos done by regular people, nurses and doctor and please send them a profesional opinion. Your profesional opinion would save lives avoiding the horrendous mistakes I see in most videos of people with good ideas and great heart but, lacking your skills. Your job is so important. Thank you so very much.
What they should have done is kept the hospital name as nebraska medical center and not nebraska medicine
