Nah i think Shattered Space looks like it will be one of, if not their biggest DLC. Theyve marketed and communicated it like that. Calling it a 'story expansion', the fact its taken 1 year to develop, comparing it to Far Harbour etc
@@qwertyvypez It could be the greatest and most massive DLC of all time, it most probably still will have horrible writing, sensitised characters, and overall boring/bad RPG and exploration elements. Bethesda was intellectually bankrupt before Shitsoft took over, now it’s on complete downfall. Just look at their cringy and corpo self aggrandising “self interviews”.
I genuinely hope it includes some more POIs in the base game and is as large if not larger than shivering isles or dragonborn. I would say these were the best Bethesda dlc not far harbour.
Holding thumbs for Shattered Space to be good - I've held out playing Starfield until all the polish and QoL updates and first DLC drop. Keen to finally jump in
It will be better to just play it right now the bounty hunter thing is really cool and performance is now very stable no sense in waiting, there is one space race encounter one grandma encounter and so many more that you have not seen
I honestly think bethesda wants to hit the first dlc out of the park this time around. I think it will be at least 10 hours for the main quest, hopefully 15-20, and hopefully the additions will drip in the base game. I believe the vehicle update may drop alongside the dlc.
I think Shattered Space is going to be a single system instead of just a 'hidden' planet, with it hidden from our view. I also think it will be somewhat hand-crafted, just cause that was a big piece of criticism for the main game. What I hope is that Bethesda does that, it's received insanely well, and they deliver more hand crafted systems. Which, I should say, I would happily pay for. The emptiness of the systems that are proc-gen makes sense for the storyline, but I would love an overhaul for Akila, New Atlantis, and Neon. With a few more massive hand crafted systems.
"Shattered Space would be like the Automatron of Starfield" I was thinking something similar as well going by the name. Good thing we are wrong about it.
One of the first things Andreja says in the SS trailer is "There is no record of a star station in this orbit". So the location is known. We see a gas giant (no rings) and we see at least one moon orbiting the gas giant. We also see a gas giant (dark orange, no rings) and at least one moon orbiting the gas giant later in the trailer when we are on Va'ruun'kai. This all implies that while the location is known, the star station and Va'ruun'kai have been "hidden" somehow. We see a malfunctioning device suspended by chains on the star station. A cloaking device? Has the device failed and somehow "shattered space"? Revealing the star station and Va'runn'kai? It's plausible. If true, then the most likely location for the gas giant would be Kazarah in the Nirah System. And the one moon we see in the trailer orbiting the gas giant is Ka'zaal. Va'ruun'kai would be the second moon of Kazarah. Hidden all this time. Which would all make sense from a lore perspective relative to what we know went on on Ka'zaal with the artifacts and Va'ruun. Just my two cents.
Since the DLC is basically just one faction taken out of the main game, I would assume the size of it will be similar to the size of the faction quests already in the game.
the MINIMUM i hope for is that shattered space will allow the varuun homeworld to be visited AND that you can join them. maybe even another faction expanded upon joining/aiding like the Ecliptics or some other dedicated mercenary group. and hopefully whatever factions are joinable will have new radiant/filler quests. i've been wanting to play a proper varuun character for quite some time! much like i have a child of atom character in fallout 4.
Man those automatron droids you could build really gave the game much more content though! None of the other DLCs gave much to mess with besides some gear.
A lot of expectations I see always seem to be based on what Skyrim was AFTER the DLC released. The trailer for Dawnguard was neat..but we had no idea what the scale was going to be.
bethesda saying it’s like Far Harbour gives “hey, you know the best dlc we ever made that made a lot of money? yeah it’s like that. trust me” vibes edit: i do have high hopes though, this isn’t a hate comment just a wary comment
I wonder how many people actually get that future bethesda games most likely would involve divided and smaller maps that we have seen in starfield. Maybe a little bigger and less dorment and empty too. This would make sense in a fallout game. Since their would be would be a massive amount of undiscovered land. It seems like they will soon ditch the giant map standard. Or maybe do something a little different. Maybe not just tiny maps like on starfield. Wide open spaces can get monotonous and really boring very fast.
Automatron is already pretty much in the game already just in a different spectrum we never had customizable robots in fallout 4 for a good chunk of time but they have the huge ship building mechanic for it all in Starfield and I think they will let modders add onto that not focus on that aside from the land vehicles. But I do think alot of the new and existing planets aswell as new systems will be introduced through the serpentine system of planets which is already in game😅.
I'm hoping to get something as detailed and large as the map of Far Harbor with Shattered Space. I really enjoy the game, but the exploration is something that needs work, and I think if they were to focus on a smaller scale and pack POIs in closer (like Far Harbor), it would be a step in the right direction.

@@qwertyvypez in their update videos they described it as „massive“
This expansion will include vehicles
I hope so. It’s going to be bad for them if it’s smaller than the Vanguard quest.

Nah vehicles won't be part of DLC, they would have made that clear if so. I expecting vehicles in the next update

Shimmering isles was the best DLC. Great video by the way, I think we are getting a system separated from the settled systems.

In their marketing speak, they keep calling it "the massive shattered Space expansion.". So, chances are it will be pretty huge.

@@kurtispalmer8168 yeah, thinking about it adding that whole robot building mechanic was a bonkers toolkit to get just from a feature perspective.
