Another excellent video, Sarah! For upcoming plans, I am planning on doing a solo marathon in early December since there are no real races in my area for the foreseeable. The Centurion Community challenge is intriguing, I might give the 50 mile challenge a go! Thanks as always for sharing your journey! Cheers from Canada, Scott
Bringing back loads of good memories for me , ran in Spain 2years ago (El Burrueco, highly recommend it way of the touristy places but awsum for running and enjoying rural Spain ) . Great stuff !
Right, that’s my next holiday plans sorted! Great video as usual Sarah, you really seem to get the tone, length, content and general good vibes of your videos absolutely spot on
Just stumbled across this video after redoing your core exercise one today as I my physio was closed for Pilates. thought I had seen them all. Miss your style of presentation/content but enjoy the work you both do together
Positive energy from You, as usual - many thanks for this video. In Poland all races also have cancelled (this is my first season, as You know), but running alone is not forbidden. My forerunner 645 can navigate by courses, so I search new places in Garmin Connect and then upload pre-created by other person courses to watch, take a car, go to the startpoint and run 🤣 Regards ;)
Such serenity and tranquility, what a beautiful and stunning landscape. How jammy were you guys managing to sneak in a jolly before round two of restrictions kicked in ! The Arc is a beast! Beautiful and brutal in equal measure, I’ve only managed the baby 50 and that totally broke me ! I ran in the Salomon ultra pro and they were fantastic on the terrain and had no issues at all even in places where the bog fest is ridiculous! But my new bestest faves are the Saucony Peregrine 10, I absolutely bloody love them. Shoe size 5 but run in a 6, trust them totally in every aspect and are now my go to for all coast path and off roading. Lloyd at PB in Hayle recommended them, really worth a visit if you make it down West 😁 Shout our if you are down and need any help or reccy advice, such a great trail community here and if we don’t know we know some one who will 😁 look forward to seeing you at St Ives CP ... getting it done 😁 happy trails !
thanks so much, i've had so many lovely and helpful comments from people down in cornwall, you're absolutely right about the trail community there it seems amazing!! and yes i was going to head to pb hayle next week but had to cancel the trip sadly but will get down there as soon as i can. it was from loyd's recommendation that i got the peregrine 10s in the first place so keen to get the size right on them. see you at st ives! :D
Great vid Sarah can't wait to see you take on some of these epic races and see it from your view, I remember seeing your clips from the Mozart ultra and thinking you should have a channel😁
It looks so beautiful there. I'm due to do the polar sun half marathon in Tromso in January but recently been informed the flights have been cancelled. Race still going ahead so by hook or by crook I'll get to that start line. Might be a wee bit colder there than in Gran Canaria.
First trail race on 6th of December as long as the UK comes out of lockdown. 10miles, doing my longest run ever on Sunday which will be the 10mile distance! Considering a trail marathon next year of training keeps going well
Great video Sarah. I'd recommend you try once the old TGC start from beside the sea in Agaete to right about where you started here. It's an amazing 1k+ mts climbing path up the Tamadaba massiff. Then you reverse back down, should be less than 25k total, and enjoy a well deserved swim in the sea and the views of what you just conquered 😀
Recommend the Hoka EVO Speedgoats. I've moved from Nike trail shoes and the difference is massive. So much more grip, much lighter and good cushioning so feet don't feel beat up. Something to throw into the mix to try and see if they work for you.
I agree with the recommendation of the Hoka EVO Speedgoats. Amazing shoe. Another one I really like is INOV-8 Roclite 315 GTX. The grip from the 6 mm deep lugs is better than the EVO and other trail shoes I’ve run in
Moved to the HOKA HOKA Speedgoat two months ago and Love them! I would recommend going a half size bigger (US sizes at least) and wider than you normally go with. Great grip on a wide variety of terrain and super comfortable without being too cushioned and feeling less of the ground with each strike- a nice balance of cushion and responsiveness for me
Another amazing video Sarah. I saw a fantastic short film on Arc of Attririon on 'Run for Adventure's channel called the pirate about Steve Wyatt who I think has won the Arc about 3 or 4 times.
Hi Sarah. Great vídeo! I’m convinced to run in Gran Canaria for sure! Next time hope you try my greener island not so far from the canaries : Madeira! I’d love to see your footage no the madeiran trails! Keep inspiring us!
I buy my shoes by the cm declaration (for me it's 29) because the UK/US sizes are different by many brands. The only pair that do not fit perfectly is from Hoka because it is a 'wide' one (not the standard width). Hope that helps
I had exactly the same feeling about Peregrine 10s a few weeks back. Initially I thought they were a tad small and narrow and nearly sent them back, but now they are pretty much my favourite trail shoe. Even so, a half size euro larger might be ok, if they make them.
If you don't like it too narrow around the toes, Altra has some excellent trail shoes with wide toe boxes. But it is zero drop, a little bit different if you're not used to it.
thanks guillaume - yeah i've had a few pairs of altras in the past which have worked quite well, but just need to try a load on i think to make sure i get the right fit and size
Another great video Sarah, the quality is so good. I’m looking to buy my first camera, out of the gear you’ve listed which one would you recommend I pick up? Thanks
depends what you're going to use it for but i don't think you could go far wrong with a gopro, the colours are so crisp and vibrant and the stabilisation is pretty good. i really like the dji osmo action as well though because it has a front screen and very reliable! that probably doesn't help much but good luck with the camera purchase!
now that i've done it i don't feel the need to do it again, as amazing as it was! i've got quite a few cancelled races from this year that are now next year so need to have a look at my calendar and figure out what to do and when!
yeah i am also keen to try, my only concern was that they aren't that cushioned for very long runs but if damian hall can run the length of the pennine way in them then i'm sure they can do the job!
Been running for about 2 years, and 2020 was going to be the year I finally ran races for real! Then London Landmarks HM was cancelled 😢, and shortly after the 3 adidas City Runs I planned were scrapped too. Did Vitality 10k virtually, but feel a bit of a fraud that my first race medal wasn't a real race! Bit demotivated since then, but hoping 2021 can finally get me to my first start line!
ah that sucks, sorry to hear that! but i'm sure it won't be long before races are back. maybe look for some smaller or local ones with fewer participants as they will be a lot more likely to go ahead than the big mass participation events. 2021 will be better for sure :) good luck with your running and racing!
