Haha, this song is pretty weird when you take it literally. They all shun this girl and treat her like absolute trash. I mean she's basically asking these people to die by eating her pies so of course no one would take it, right? But when you look at it another way, it's more like asking them to get out of their comfort zone and live. In a life of eternity where nothing matters because you'd have all the time in the world, you're bound to get complacent. But nobody cares because it's eternal life. Living long is obviously pretty nice, but it can blind you if it's all you see. But I'm not really an analyst or lyricist. I'm really bad with words and explaining myself but this song is amazing. It's nice to hear what the duo has done. These are some great lyrics coming from David as usual and Will did wonderful singing this song. I love y'all .-.

As a result, they don't value time and by extension life (not their own or others') and the girl suffers because she is aware of this and her suffering ends when someone joins her and she is no longer alone in the world and she has someone who values her and her life and her time and who values their own as well. 2. No one is immortal. The apples do not make anyone mortal. They give people awareness of mortality and because people are unaware of their own mortality they incorrectly believe that the apples will curse them to die. Because they incorrectly believe they are immortal, they do not value their time or lives or others' time or lives. They're cold and distant and suffering. So when the girl offers them the pies she isn't asking people to die, she's asking people to cast off their ignorance so their limited time will have value and they can be happy. She suffers because of the way they treat her because they believe they are immortal and she isn't but she knows that no one is immortal. When the boy eats her pie, he gains the knowledge of his mortality and is able to value others thus easing the pain of the girl because she isn't alone anymore.
