As for the barrels. Most machineguns are issued with two barrels. Realistically, by the time you heat up the new barrel, the first barrel you changed out would have probably cooled down, so I think unlimited barrel changes is good enough to achieve a realistic effect.
They could do it like in Red Orchestra 2 where it does cool off if you swap out barrel 1 in time, unless you stress it to the point it breaks, having you to resupply for a new one.
My only concern is that the barrel heat isn't accurate to real life. Wasn't it about every 200 rounds the barrel should be swapped? So we should be able to get through an entire belt before having to swap. I hate when they do like a 100 round limit. Super annoying and un realistic. That being said the manuals typically call for a 2-3 second burst every 3 seconds. So there's that
I like that they are talking inspiration from RO2. I hope they implement some of the asymmetrical balace that rising storm 1 had with things like booby traps and banzai charges.
@sync380 People forget that the reason why the banzai charge was so cool and effective (unless a flamethrower is present) was because IT IS UNREALISTIC AND ARCADEY. Remember that RO2/RS1 was a semi-realistic shooter. You don't just gain bullet resistance and have a chance to survive headshots in real life just because you are charging with your comrades.
@rouxgreasus Yeah, the Moro tribes in the Philippines also used a similar type of drug that made them pain resistant. Hundreds of waves of Moros charged the Americans and only killed a few dozen of the Americans while the Moros were UTERRLY DESTROYED.
The type 99 lmg with scope is really interesting way to balance the Japanese faction. I like how Squad 44 don't shy away with adding that and bayonet on shotgun (which many thought can be op). Hoping to see more unique Japanese things. Scoped type 97 rifle allowing clip reload, type 99 rifle can use monopod, type 99 magnetic mine, type 89 grenade discharger, and others
If they need reference photos I have original Japanese weapons such as the Arisaka type 99,type 98 NCO Sword and more. I'm excited for the update and would like to see a Guadalcanal map and Tarawa.
Ok, so hear me out: Lesser known, and less represented theatre of war: The initial resistance of the Norwegian army and kings guard, and civilian volunteers - against the overwhelming odds of german fallschirmjägers. And the following barttles before the inevitable collapse after the allied retreated. Lots of possibility for unique maps with lots of verticality. Factions fighting in the battles already in the game. More early war battle scenarios and unique equipment and units. If anything a very interesting history, and subsequently the battle of Narvik was Hitlers first major defeat in the war. (Allthough battlefield kinda claimed that one)
I'm a big fan of Squad. I loved Post Scriptum and what is now Squad 44. The two games are very similar. Similar enough to be confusing, but too distinctively different to share a name. With the choice to pull them both under the Squad moniker are there plans to unitize game mechanics and UI so that players transitioning from one to the other expecting everything to work mostly the same way aren't as lost? At their core all Battlefield games play the same, All CoD games play the same, all starcraft games play the same. My main concern is not whether one game has more or different mechanics and features, so much as mechanics which exist in both games that currently work completely differently while achieving the same end result. Here is a shortlist of things I think need to be unitized: - Default control schemes should be identical - Main menu, Kit selection, and spawn menu UI should be nearly identical. (not in terms of aesthetics, but the menu trees and the button/tab layouts) - Healing and revival mechanics should could be made the same (The syringe and healing a fixed amount of health with multiple bandages system from '44 is much more interesting and plays into the logistics side of the game. I'd like to see this implemented into Squad.) - Spawn point mechanics. Radio/Hab/Garrison/MSPs, how are they built, how they can be damaged/destroyed, how many people nearby to over run. I feel these are currently a bit too different, yet similar enough to be confusing. IMO MSPs should be removed from '44. Needing to grenade or attack a rally point in order to destroy it, I'd like to see added to Squad. I'd like to see FOBs be modified to be physically more like HABs which provide some initial cover for players spawning in. - Mapper placed moving spawn points like the landing boats on the D-day beach maps could be added to amphibious assault layers in squad. It will potentially breath some life back into that concept for maps like Black Coast. The benefits are for example a mass of moving and shooting AAVPs and LAVs could provide some fodder for actual player vehicles while they're still in the open water. As well, an attacking team is able to continue effectively landing infantry even after they've lost all real vehicles and aren't able to establish spawns on land. What killed Amphib gameplay IMO was that once you lost your first wave of vehicles and boats, you really only had the helis left and you at best have 2 of those. At the same time adding a land main base spawn kind of defeats the point of such a layer and map. - Terrain and foliage movement penalties/non passable foliage. As much as I hate it, please bring this into Squad. I see some of it in Sanxian already and It very much changes the squad and even platoon level movement dynamics for the better. There are many more things I think could or should be unitized, but I think this gets the point across.
Please get them to introduce those 200 round belt fed guns with barrel change asap!! It would be cool if marksman rifles with iron sights that still can be used to have that implement too. Like the kar98 and mosin you could still use the irons
We'll get there. About to play my first match ever later tonight. With the publicity it's getting I think there's a fair share of HLL players who are interested
Its all coming together. Im hearing on reddit that for some players going from 80 to 100 players tanked their fps from one player said he went from 80fps to 20 to 40fps. I don't know how big of an issue this is. I made some video setting changes and my 4k monitor lost a backlight so I went back to my old benQ at 1080p. That turned out to be a good thing as I gained a butt load of frames that I didn't have before. I doing okay in 100 player matches. Cya later.
I have a 4080, play at a 1440p resolution, and have ever setting maxed, along with going into the .ini settings folder to further tweak the graphics and I’m always at a solid 60 gps at a minimum
Nice video card. I'm still running the rtx2080 & with my 4k monitor 2k was the highest I would go and maintain decent frames. The 2080 could do 4k but not very well. Your 4080 ,on the other hand can do 4k all day but I would run in 2k as well just for the faster frames. Important in multiplayer games.. d.@@TheNucaKola
@@TheNucaKola Im trying to make a decision on upgrading or doing a new build since I would upgrade to am5. or stick this out a little longer. I'll probably just do a video card upgrade soon to the 4080 I guess. I don't think anything beats it at this point.
they need to add progression or unlocks. There is no incentive in playing, except just for the fun of it. In Hell let loose, i kept playing for a whole week, just to unlock the pak40... After unlocking it, i realised how utterly immobile it was and smashed my screen. Good times.
Honestly, idk if I care too much for how quickly the barrels overheat. I mean, it's neat I guess, but I'm all for realism, and realistically, you can fire a SHIT load of rounds through a barrel before it really overheats. Even with an MG42, although that MG is definitely the one most prone to overheating. But I just don't want barrel changes added as some gimmicky game mechanic.
