I have been watching several videos since discovering your channel. Your knowledge is so broad! I little story here....I grew up wanting to drink tea and coffee only from my grandmother English porcelain collection, which she kept for special occasion.So, I was prohibited from using it until finally, at age 12, I just started to " invite" my grandmother to have tea or caffe latte with me ! I proved that I could care for all these beautiful cups and saucers so I was finally granted permission! Such fond memories. So now I use daily Villeroy & Bosh Anmut, beautiful, clean white bone porcelain, very versatile, but for special , and not so special occasions, I use Christofle Madison 6, which I absolutely love.

Thank you for all the information! I just bought real dinnerware and I am enjoying it so much more than I expected. The number of brands had me so confused that I narrowed it down by sentimental reasons. My mother and my grandmother used Rosenthal Maria so I stuck with that brand which was a little pricey for me. I chose Rosenthal Thomas Loft so I could afford to get 2 dozen. I like that I can enjoy it every day and dress it up for big family dinners.
You are welcome and well done! There are a tonne of brands to wade through but if you know the quality indicators then you will be fine. Thomas Loft is beautiful in its simplicity and the snow white colour. Long may you enjoy all the wonderful dinner parties you will have with it!

Thank you... Dior and Versace produce beautiful looking tableware but I was focused on brands that only produce tableware as that says something about the quality...more than brands that produce tableware in addition to other products... bravo for finding the other videos.

I would place both brands very comfortably within the mid tier although a couple of ranges from Dibbern are on the pricier end similar to Wedgewood which has a sold mix of top end and mid tier ranges but not quite in the dizzy heights of Hermes or Bernadaud for example.

As an American, I have to chime in and say Lenox.. Lenox is beautiful....
It is and they have so many options. Literally something for everyone.
I use Bernardaud every day! I love their simple Palmyre and Louvre collections, mixed with the Constance pattern.

I enjoy Villeroy and boch, Wedgwood, Spode, for more expensive china Paragon is my all time favorite but is so pricey and not manufactured anymore. Noritake is a wonderful brand. After War War II many Anericans got rid of all their China from Asia but it was heavily bought so there is a ton in America. They make lovely fine china but doesn't get the love it should in the United States. I have geard it us becoming collectible in the Asian market.
I have noticed quite a few of my American viewers like Noritake. I’ll need to track it down next time I’m in the US. Villeroy and Boch is a wonder brand! I cannot get enough of it.

Can you do a video where you advise brides on what to add to their registry? I don't know anything. I know I want a set of china of some kind. Hermes is not in the budget though.

Wow! Way out of my league. I should be so fortunate to worry about such things as super high-end dinner ware. Most of what I eat is wrapped in paper and eaten on the couch. 🤣
“Wrapped in paper” takes me back to a teenage day trip to Brighton that ended with fish and chips on the pier.
Designs are nice, but what brand would you recommend that is hard to break? About 20 years ago I bought some Jamie Oliver Royal Worcester plates and bowls, which is my main focus, I dropped 1 or 2 of the small plates and regular size bowls on concrete about 3 times, they didn’t even crack in the slightest, unfortunately the moving company lost them. Durability is my main focus, what would you recommend?
I don’t know a brand that is hard to break
Have you spoken to Royal Worcester about alternate ranges or collaborations that may work for you?
We use Bone China from Noritake brand. It’s very easy to clean the food stains don’t really stick to it.
What do you think of Poggenpohl kitchen brand, is it Top end of the spectrum in your book?
I would say they are definitely luxury not quite top end think super premium or ultra high end but comfortably premium core.

I was surprised that Royal Copenhagen was not included in your list. Love the lace blue and since it has no gold on the pattern the young ones getting married tell me they prefer it to my "100 year old gold edge Lenox".
There are hundreds of brands to choose from I unfortunately cannot cover all of them. It’s just not physically possible.

It’s a superb American brand.
There seems to be a lot of Noritake out there... I havent personally heard of them before, nor have I seen their pieces in person (And I wont, as the area in which I live tends to feature Martha Stewart home housewares) but I found a pattern of theirs that I quite like- and they have decent online reviews..🤷♂️What do you think? The prestige aspect does matter a bit less to me than it does to many, but I also don't want to invest in junk when I could have a Villeroy and Boch set for the same price...
Noritake is a Japanese brand I’ve heard of them a couple of times and seen a few pieces. What do I think, if you like the design go for it but if prestige matters then your more established and well known crockery brands think Bernadaud, Meissen, Haviland, Herend for example
@@SoAnesu Ah.. prestige. The thing that motivates people to put Cadillacs in their driveway and skip buying their children shoes. Unfortunately brand fetishes often serve to impoverish those who can ill afford them. Very sad that our emphasis on the superficial extravagances has such a detrimental effect on the economically disadvantaged.
Ah that’s the funny thing about life, from the minute you wake up to the minute you put your head down to sleep, it’s made up of a series of choices defining your day and cumulatively shaping your life - good or bad - depending on who’s critiquing. What do you think about the brands 1882 Ltd or serax?
I think they are fab brands. Both available on Amara and i like their mix of brands.
I personally used to like 1882 Ltd and explored getting a dinner set from there a few years ago. I like the quality and obviously designs and if there is something from the brand i would say go for it.
Serax is amazing one of those impossibly cool brands that collaborates with the good and the great. District aesthetic and beautifully made. I’m looking for an alfresco dinner set and Serax is a definite consideration.
