I’ve done the same thing to some of my ukuleles that needed adjusting to my style of playing. Very satisfied. Makes strumming much smoother. Good share. Mahalo.
I've been doing my own set-ups. You really want to take down the saddle and file the slots in the nut. As far as sandpaper, I don't recommend anything coarser than 120. I like to use 220. It does take longer but I'd rather go slower than faster. It also helps to have some sort of way to measure the distance between the string and the fret so you have hard numbers to aim for. Some use feeler gauges, some use cards, some use other stuff. I use digital measuring devices. What a huge difference a set-up makes!
This seat-of-the-pants approach is less than helpful. At minimum, the height of the strings at the 12th feet should be determined as the sanding proceeds. About 2.5 mm at the 12th fret is the usual target. The string height at the first fret should be about the thickness of a business card.

Mahalo for the info
Setup certainly improves playability.
Awesome nails. Great picking!
Thank you
Thanks for the share. Absolutely no reason to level the table… unless you have OCD. 😂 Mahalo!
Yes.. Very true
Thanks, btw are those your nails?
Yes they are!
Bad action at the nut is the more significant cause of playability issues.
Yes.. Best to lower saddle than fool around with the nut
Thanks ❤John 3,16 ❤
