    Big fan of the breakdown series! It's really nice to get so much info straight from the best in the business in such a quick format. Keep it up - Mahalo from Germany

    I have been really impressed that all my Kanile'a ukuleles arrived with perfect action dialed in. In the past I played each instrument I bought before any money changed hands but the Covid pandemic changed that and I just had to cross my fingers and buy my Kanilea ukuleles on-line.
    It was great that each instrument was presented and well-played on-line so I wasn't left having to hope that the instruments sounded as good as they looked in photographs. One of the reasons that I chose Kanile'a in the first place was that each instrument that was presented for sale on-line was videoed being played by some of the people who sold Kanilea ukuleles. I already knew how well they played and it was really helpful to hear them playing the exact instrument that I was buying.
    One of the things I've really loved about Kanile'a is the personal touch that comes from buying an instrument that is built by a family and a few of their long-term employees. It is very much like having one luthier building an instrument for you. The Kanile'a team knows how they want their instruments to sound and the action on the ukuleles that I've bought from Kanile'a has been just right when I unpacked them!

    Thanks for the clear explanation of the TRU setup of your wonderful ukuleles. I am very disappointed to see some of the stores which carry your ukes "highly recommending" their own setups. I am absolutely certain that your highly skilled uke makers are better at setting up your ukes than any "luthier" working in a guitar/uke store.

      So true , most people that spent thousands of dollars for a Kanile’a especially if it’s used get it not set up ; I played a $3,500 custom tenor Kanile’a and immediately said I don’t like it ;) because it wasn’t tru set up, wrong strings on it , had to adjust saddle and nut ; put on good strings ….only then did it become one of my favorite ukes ! I have several Koaloha’s too .

    When ukes leave your workshop, are they already properly and fully setup or is it still necessary for the store luthiers to do further work to optimize Kanileʻa ʻUkuleles? Thanks in advance.

      Great question. We do a full TRU-Setup on the instrument. There really is no need for any work to be done on the instrument once it leaves our facility.

    I fatigue with bar chords at the first fret and feel the action at the nut might need adjustment. Can I bring my ukelele in to your shop? Or do I need to bring it to the retail store where I bought it?

      Aloha, if it is a Kanileʻa or Islander instrument we are more than able to work on it if you bring it to our Windward Mall location. Or the shop you purchased from too. The choice is yours. I canʻt 100% speak for them without knowing where you got it from though.

    Do your Islands models have a radiused fret board?

    • @KanileaUkulele
      @KanileaUkulele  2 года назад

      Aloha, thank you for the question. None of our models come with radiused fretboard out of production. This is something that can be added to any model and put through as a "build to order" ʻukulele. Feel free to call or email if you want to discuss further... 808-234-2868 or info@kanileaukulele.com

    Do you replace strings of a Kanile’a at the winward showroom?
