One big issue is the excessive spacing within a panel . Any hidden features to reduce the spacing?
True especially on the mobile version
go to custom theme, then scroll down to the bottom, click spacing, and then choose compact

Hello Tava Kessler I'm having trouble restoring my custom domain on Google sites. I create another site and wanted to switch the domain to the new site (on Google sites) but it said domain name in use even after I deleted the domain name from original website on google sites. How can I restore the domain name back to the original site?

I just spent a lot of time creating a Google website with the understanding that I would be able to set page level permissions. Apparently that is no longer a feature ugh! Can I create two Google sites with the same domain and make one public and one private? That way when people enter my URL they will come to the public site that would have a contact form to access the rest of the site ? Or, is there another work around? Please help.

Great information. I'm having the same trouble as OceanRain. I used a gold ampersand PNG for my email symbol. After I input the link for my preferred email address, it was accepted. Upon checking nothing happened. When I scroll over the icon it doesn't even light up as if there's a link connected to it. Can you provide any suggestions? Using the contact form is so tacky.

Not that I know of… probably the best thing to do is make the header as small as possible and put the carousel directly below

It helps to have an unusual name! Not much else you can do to get up in search results, other than having a highly clicked on site.

There's no way to add widgets on Google Sites, but you can use the embed tool to use an alternative to widgets.
