THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! I have a performance tomorrow and I have a double in the piece. I kept falling back and the teacher gave me a GIANT lecture on confidence and go for it and threatened to change the dance if I couldn't do it. I just leaned my weight forward and did 4 perfect doubles in a row. THANK YOUUUUUU! I just hope the show tmrw goes well.
Thank you Kathryn! I find your technique videos very helpful! I've just mastered my en dehors turn (only a single one, but I'm really pumped :D) and now I want do achieve doing en dedans turns because I always have struggles with it. Greetings from Austria!
My real problem is doing double/multiple en dedans pirouettes by fifth... I never have enough momentum to do the double.. Any tips on that??? (sorry if there are any mistakes)
great Video! I'm really struggling with turns on pointe. I'm afraid of it because I think I can't hold myself on pointe (but I can-when we are doing pointe excercises I can hold myself great on pointe) and I feel like falling over. Any Tips for me? Greetings from Germany
What does it mean if it is backwards for someone? en Dedans being MUCH easier than en Dehors? Is there something alignment, or weight distribution related?
Hi, I really love your videos are very helpful, could you make a video about help with grand jumps like grand jete or grand jete en tournant? I need some tips for my presentation, is the first time that I am the protagonist and I need to improve my jumps please!
Can you please make a video on stretches for dancers who are already really flexible. I can do the splits (and an ok over split), but I want to be able to lift my leg past my head. Any advice?
I'm trying to diagnose my problem and apply counterbalance technique, but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I can usually do one turn, but then my back leg falls out at the "4 o'clock" position when I turn counterclockwise. And the left leg will fall out at the 8 o'clock position when I turn to the right. I've tried leaning into the turn and away from the turn, and neither one seems to work. Eager to try the extended leg and "flat hips" suggestions though. Anyway, great channel and I appreciate your workouts and tips.
Amber Annie I'm new to ballet but I believe en dedans- you turn towards the non passé leg. So if you're lifting your left leg in passé, you turn to the right. In en Dehors, you turn toward the passé leg. So if you lift the left leg in to passé , you turn to the left, etc. :)
This vid is just what I was looking for! I was wondering if you would do a video focusing on Port De Bras? I have issues with keeping the arms going with the legs during long combinations, its so frustrating my brain just shuts off.
Hi Kathryn I'm currently in grade 3 and we have an exercise on pada cha sorry if this is spelt incorrectly I am very tall for my age and getting my legs up and landing is a problem if you could give any tips or maybe a video it would help so much I think your amazing and you inspire me xx
@@kathryn_morgan I know this was an old post but I am struggling with continued en dedan turns from 5th, in Emerald. If you made a video of it, kindly point my way :)
I think as you are turning en dehor, your back leg engages in pirouette position when your body already turned half a turn so your leg travels less, when en dedans you back leg has to travel extra to get to pirouette position, if that makes sense
arent you supposed to start off with both feet in 4th and doing a plié because thats what my teacher told me and shes a company memeber from sab or maybe im just wrong xD pls help :)
Kortnija Gurtlava I think she said in an FAQ that's she's busy auditioning or was thinking about it and that she'd update us in due time. So I think she's certainly thinking about it :).

This video is very helpful, thank you so much!
Thank you Kathryn!!! I love this video so much! 30-40% immediate improvement!

Inês Correia same!
I believe the problem is in the swing. It must be with focus and ebergy, don't forget the back leg.
how often should I practice my turns?
great Video!

En dedan is easier for me, could there be a specific reason why?
Same here
I learned en dedans as a kid so it feels more natural.
Kathryn, this is fantastic, thank you!

well 50% of my class like en dedan turns more so I don't think it means anything too important
I can't do a double!! Can you help?!

I find it difficult to go around for my double pirouettes and I don't know where I am going wrong, help?
I need tips for spotting.
I struggle with en dedans pirouettes starting from 5th position.
Thank you Katie❤️

Is it still an en dedan if I only get around once? If not, what is it called when you only get around once?
I'm really confused on the difference between dedans and dehors. Please help?

en dedans means inside turn to the inside of you en dehors means outside turn to the outside of you
do you have any tips for dealing with a bad tendon in the foot and any tips on how to present yourself while still having good technique?
I’m jealous of the commenters who can do en dedans without falling
This vid is just what I was looking for!

Great videos, your a great inspiration to me

Could you please do a Stila palette or all makeup palette review? That would be so amazing!
Te amo! Gracias 🌸

Hello Katie,
recently, I'm able to do a double pirouette, but I have trouble to keep my spot.
Do you have any advice?
Love your videos! ♥︎

Can you do a video on en dedans pirouettes from 5th?
+Holly Goulet YES! I dread those, so we will do it! Haha so difficult
@@kathryn_morgan I know this was an old post but I am struggling with continued en dedan turns from 5th, in Emerald. If you made a video of it, kindly point my way :)
Can you tell me why so many people feel that en dedans are so much more difficult? I find them way easier. Thanks!
Rebecca B i think I’m just used to en dehors. Every time I try en dedans I fall backwards.
I think as you are turning en dehor, your back leg engages in pirouette position when your body already turned half a turn so your leg travels less, when en dedans you back leg has to travel extra to get to pirouette position, if that makes sense

Do you have a ballet studio in ur house?
21 000 views and no dislikes. I have never seen this happen on youtube.
how are you not at one million!!?
are you planning to get back into professional ballet any time soon? love your videos :)
Kortnija Gurtlava I think she said in an FAQ that's she's busy auditioning or was thinking about it and that she'd update us in due time. So I think she's certainly thinking about it :).
Funny, I've always found pirouettes en dedans much easier than en dehors! Are you on a diet?
Lygia Moura, same, I've never me anyone who agrees!
Lol! I find En Dehors more harder😂 #Leftie
I find en dedans much easier actually.
