I go to a little ballet school in a tiny village, and my class (grade 4) and the class above (grade 6) are joined together for a one dance exam, and the teacher put sissonnes in which are grade 5 syllabus, so most of my class don't know how to do it. I'm quite good at picking stuff up quickly, so I can do it, but the rest of my class can't and they're not asking the teacher to go over it, so its really messy. I get really annoyed at some of the stuff they do there (like this and not letting us take exams because not everyone is ready, ect.) but the only other ballet school in my area has a group of girls that hate me and I don't want to put myself in that situation. I mostly teach myself more advanced ballet from these tutorials, but I could be doing it wrong and I don't have a teacher to correct my mistakes. I really love dancing, but my classes put me in a bad mood. What should I do?

Hi Katy!! I love your videos and I was wondering if you could make some videos teaching different variations. My studio does not have a variations class but I love learning them. Your channel rocks and all of your videos are amazing. Thank you for taking time to make all of your amazing videos!!

    Hey Kathryn,
First, congratulations on your return! I really hope we can see To Dance on RUclips soon. My question regards your thyroid illness: you were hailed as NYCB's rising star, then you suddenly had to leave ballet. Did you ever feel angry at the world, like "why me"? I'm a pre-profesional currently sidelined with a knee injury and it just feels so unfair, I'm angry all the time. Your advice would be so helpful. Sadie xo

Is that why so many ballet dancers look like their heels are Not coming down? Because they are focusing all their energy on being on the balls of their feet? Does the balance between Being on the balls of your feet, but Putting your heels Down occur after years of practice? I ask because sometimes I watch professionals who don't look like they are putting their heels down. Is that just how it appears to me?

I was just working on these in one of my last privates! Thanks for doing this tip! I have one question for another video, do you have any tips on keeping your technique through movement? My teachers all tell me I have very solid technique at the barre and then it doesn't always follow through on center. Or I can get pretty good at a certain turn etc when I just stand and practice that one thing but as soon as it's in a whole moving combination I lose it. Do you have any experience or tips to deal with this? It's SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Hi Katie. (My name is Katie too) ! My ballet teachers tell me I have great use of the head and artistry but I lack technique because I have trouble tucking my hips under and keeping the stomach and ribs closed. I keep on trying every combination in class but my body is not cooperating (lol) any tips?

You look great very talented! I think you should experiment with necklaces to break up the V neckline of your garment. It can look boxy. Just and idea I don't dance but have an eye for design. Hope I haven't offended you no malice intended.
