- The Pietermaritzburg High Court has heard an urgent application brought by some members of the Zulu royal family to interdict AmaZulu king Misuzulu from executing power over the Ingonyama Trust Fund. Judge Peter Olsen at first questioned the urgency of an application by Prince Mbonisi Zulu, brother to the late King Goodwill Zwelithini and other senior members of the royal family, who want the court to interdict the current Zulu monarch from performing some of his duties. They are arguing that King Misuzulu's position as the rightful heir to the AmaZulu throne is still pending at the Pretoria High Court and he should therefore be stripped of any financial benefits, including having jurisdiction over the trust.
