I've seen where some Master links have a spec for how wide the mashed over rivet is supposed to measure & you check ✔️ it with a digital caliper - to be sure its right on the money.

Thanks. Was doubting myself to have the wrong link... they make it seem easy slide-on, on the package.

I had the same thing happen to my chain too on my 19450L. I installed a DID ERVT chain and love it. I use the same chain in my 650R too.

Very informative. I guess I can't do this myself 'cause I don't have that remover

12:24 The Honda dealer told to put some sealant under the clip for safety. After this it should be a very safe combination for lower powered bikes.

The DID website gives a dimension for the diameter of the flare so no need to guess.

3:03 appreciate if you gave a link to the specific tool. Too many on Amazon with comments on bent pins (looks like motion pro? )

I tried using a similar press with out grinding and broke the tool

I just installed a DID 520vx3 chain on my KTM 390 ADV and used a master link. I'm a strong guy and I used channel lock pliers about twice the size you used and there was no way I could press that plate on. I had to use a press tool. Aside from the legit argument of using a peened link, I am thinking that I may not be able to put a clip-type master link on on the trail. Are there emergency master links that are an easy slip fit that do not need pressing?

We haven't come across an emergency master link, we have used a clip link and drilled the holes out for ease.. I can make a short video for you in the next few days. Not as strong but a good addition to your trail pack.
