Yeah. The cool thing about 90s and 00s animated networks is that they were pretty up to date with the pop culture to have diverse music in the shows and marketing. It also helps that a lot of the people who were in charge of Nick and CN/Boomerang also worked on MTV in the 80s and 90s.

I am also currently 29 years old. This era of cartoons, commercials, and little artistic pieces like these are honestly some of the most iconic and powerfully nostalgic pieces of media we will ever have. I believe this is because, at that time, the vibe of media as a whole, but especially children's media, was both building upon and very often including the vibes and cultural textures of all eras before it. I am usually not one to complain when channels change aesthetics. After all, everything needs to evolve. But boomerang took a big hit. There is something about all those bumpers with their drum and bass music, and the company getting actual bands to come in and sing songs about the old cartoons that made them seem so much more appealing at a time when I probably wouldn't have cared otherwise. It's easy to say now that I'm older that every cartoon deserves equal footing, but as a kid most people don't want to watch things that are older, and I think boomerang managed to change that buy incorporating musical styles and artists that were modern at the time. Without feeling like a how do you do fellow kids moment no less. The new bumpers and announcer for the channel just don't have that same charm, and that isn't helped by the fact that it's now ad supported and it's basically become the Tom and Jerry show all the time. Though to be fair, now that HBO Max is a thing there's really no point for boomerang to exist anymore.
Yea it sucks that boomerangs had to change, it was the channel I'd watch right when cartoon networked switch to adult swim. It's how I know about all these old cartoons like wacky racers, the smurfs, Flintstones, the jetsons, the pink panther, the classic Tom and Jerry, etc They may not be as shiny as the shows on CN but I grew to enjoy them nonetheless. I've always saw them as the channel for classic cartoons. But now they've changed to just pretty much airing whatever old episodes of what shows CN has rn. It's pretty much a cartoon network clone. It's just not the same, from trying to appeal to a modern audience, boomerang lost what made it special in the first place. I miss the original style, sure it may have been old but it stood out and it was quite charming too. Though I guess things have to change.
one reason being that world is constantly changing and now that people are finding out the historic origins of these cartoons, e.g Tom and Jerry being nicknames for German Soldiers and their weapons on World War 2, it encourages even less to broadcast these again on television.

3:36 is one of my favorites, especially the band's name, "Calexico". Actually, Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona-based Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. The song, "Minas de cobre (For Better Metal)", was released in 1998 on their album "The Black Light".

This brings back memories. I remember that I watched most of these shorts when I was really young. I was so fascinated that the people behind these shorts take each Hanna Barbera IP and make something creative and share them with all viewers; it is like paying homage to these classic cartoon characters, especially from the cartoons I never watched like Johnny Quest and Jabberjaw. The short I remembered the most was the Johnny Quest short.

This brings me back to a much simpler time. A time when summer meant that I'd get to sit in front of the TV all day watching boomerang, and not that it's hot and I have to go to work.....
I really missed this Boomerang. Mind you all of these music things were made in the early to mid 2000s where Boomerang got it's own channel and despite pretty much all of these shows being made decades before this point, they still cared enough to put all of these unique vids and shorts into them. CN used to care about ALL their shows from past to present but these days, it's just, well TTG.
As an early 2000’s kid boomerang was a huge part of my childhood. Everyday I’d watch shows on boomerang. I would sit at the tv for hours just watching the flinstones, the jetsons, yogi bear, Tom and Jerry, Johnny quest etc 😭 Christmas time was my favorite because all of the boomerang commercials would be Christmas themed. It’s really nostalgic and it was just such simpler times back then. Too bad the newer generations won’t experience any of this.
Boomerang was so cool me and my parents sat and watched this channel together. They grew up in the 60s and 70s so they loved seeing these cartoons and commercials.
Gorilla 4 Sale is absolutely fire and every time I hear the word gorilla uttered, it immediately starts playing in my head. Unless you want to learn every lyric to it, don't go to the Zoo with me.
Man it was amazing revisiting some of these, I laughed so fucking hard when it got the Hillbilly bears on a Jerry Springer parody and the art style was amazing.
The cowboy version of the josie and pussy cats bumper scared the shit out of me as a kid. The faces and the unnatural movement was really scary when I was alone in the room
If you had told me to name more then three of these bumpers 40 minutes ago I would not have been able to do it. But now I’m watching them all and remember with such fondness.
It’s 12PM, a Friday night, my brother and I are tucked into a blanket in the living room with a bowl of cereal each, watching Boomerang until we fall asleep. This was the shit! 😫
Ahoyhoy there, fellow RUclipsrino! The first one with the mouth and " Sound Hound " scared me. Mostly the announcer in sound hound . But I love that . All of these send a sharp chill down my spine from nostalgia, love that feeling. Another one that was creepy was the Quick Draw one. . And of course , the most satisfyingly horrific sight on Boomerang was the Spirit of the Harvest Moon from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Even as a little kid I knew this stuff was weird, but I liked it then. Coming back, it’s still weird, and just as good. Yet despite how much I loved it, I had no memory of any of these until I randomly found them.
As strange as it is to say, these bumpers were probably my first introduction to other genres of music when I was a kid. I lived in an area dominated by Country music, so it was a real eye opener hearing R&B, electronic and different rock styles

I wish these are preserved forever. They are part of my childhood!
The amount of effort required to make these was lost on me as a kid. Btw the Jabberjaw song actually rocks.
Now this was the golden age of Cartoon Network.
The 1990s was the last good decade for TV everything had to be good but after Internet then funky reality TV bullshit fucked everything up From MTV,BET, Cartoon Network E! WTF happened to us😢
I just wanna let y’all know that if ur watching this ur a king for remembering this amazing time during the old Boomerang
I missed the old Boomerang :( THE NEW ONE IS BABYISH!
I agree
If only they stayed true to their origins; airing classic cartoons.
More like bullshit PLEASE Let's make them bring all these old shows back on air again.

Good thing I have the SWAT Kats DVD. Now I can finally binge watch my favorite cartoon. Happy Anniversary SWAT Kats: 1993-2023
@@lorenadavila5580Man, nearly forgot about S.W.A.T. Cats
Im 19 now, but I remember laying in my parents bed alone late at night (by that i mean like 10pm) watching boomerang. I almost completley forgot about their bumpers, but now that I've found them again its like a gold mine

I feel old I'm 21 remember watching these on boomerang
trainlover567 same here being 22.
I am 30. remember this like yesterday LOL
Same I’m 19
I'm actually 22 now and I loved this shorts
I was 6 in 2013
I miss these shorts and groovies so much, it’s a shame that they’re not on boomerang anymore but I’m glad I was able to watch them while I did
This brings me back to a much simpler time. A time when summer meant that I'd get to sit in front of the TV all day watching boomerang, and not that it's hot and I have to go to work.....
This is so iconic for a kid growing up on only Boomerang.
@Evil Pete same
I really missed this Boomerang.
I remember falling asleep to these as a kid
13:25, the Dexter's Laboratory one, the Ed, Edd n Eddy one and anything with Soul Coughing in it will always be my favorites.
Watching these makes me realize just how ENORMOUS a Roger Rabbit sequel would be if we include all post 40’s cartoons including anime 😵💫
*crying* _won't you buy him, take him, try him?_
i miss old boomerang so much
Thank you.. from the bottom of my hearth
I’m here because I’ve had “Gorilla 4 Sale” and “Oh My Darlin” stuck in my head since I was a kid and I wanted to come back to those simple times😔
Watching these late at night on the weekends and all throughout my summers was awesome
These bumpers are the reason why I love weird as heck animated shorts now as an adult, I'm sure
Nah this brought back some many memories holy 😢
Gorilla 4 Sale is absolutely fire and every time I hear the word gorilla uttered, it immediately starts playing in my head. Unless you want to learn every lyric to it, don't go to the Zoo with me.
How much I miss these Boomerang Groovies, great memories.😢
THANK YOU I missed these so much!!
I always loved the Droopy and tips one 💀💀💯
why do i remember all of these, it’s like all my memories have been unlocked
I miss being a kid. Life was so good
Omg trip down memory lane from when i was a kid👌
I love this! I totally forgot some of these
It’s 12PM, a Friday night, my brother and I are tucked into a blanket in the living room with a bowl of cereal each, watching Boomerang until we fall asleep. This was the shit! 😫
This has unlocked a memories that I didn't know I had.
9:42 is so smooth
Ahoyhoy there, fellow RUclipsrino! The first one with the mouth and " Sound Hound " scared me. Mostly the announcer in sound hound . But I love that . All of these send a sharp chill down my spine from nostalgia, love that feeling. Another one that was creepy was the Quick Draw one. . And of course , the most satisfyingly horrific sight on Boomerang was the Spirit of the Harvest Moon from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Atom Ant and Sound Hound also scared me, I think beautiful of the art style. But I loved The Quick Draw ones.
Also the gargoyles in the Jonny Quest one
Even as a little kid I knew this stuff was weird, but I liked it then. Coming back, it’s still weird, and just as good. Yet despite how much I loved it, I had no memory of any of these until I randomly found them.
I from time to time sing "we got a gorilla for sale". God what a hit of nostalgia
ALL. OF. THIS. LOVE THEM ALL. I miss these
This brought back such 90s nostalgia for me💚!! I still vividly remember some these shorts!! Also the songs bop!
I was gonna say, I swear I heard Soul Coughing - Circles from Boomerang over 20 years ago!! Absolutely perfect
I was a small child when these were out and I never woulda guessed how much I’d still like them as an adult
