- Nickelodeon approached us to develop our comic into a possible show idea, and this is the short we made to show what the look of that show could be. We also storyboarded a full pilot that made it to animatic, but wasn't completed. Unfortunately Nick passed on our idea, but making this was a very enjoyable experience and I love how it turned out. If you liked the short, you can read the webcomic it spawned from at campcomic.com.

Nick passed on Adventure Time . Look what it became . This could easily became a show somewhere else. We shall see
YES! Why wouldn’t SpongeBobs mom want a show about abandoned children and a little girl who was LITERALLY MAILED TO A PLACE IN THR MIDDLE OF NOWHERE (at least I think)(read the “memories arc” to learn more)

Seventeens voice is cute and perfect
This needs to be greenlit so badly, as someone who read the entire comic, it's different, it's fun, dark, heartwarming, mysterious, its fresh, new, it's what we NEED right now... it's not something that should be passed over, it's something that needs to be greenlit. I hope it gets that opportunity in the future.
You and I are in agreement on that one, not greenlighting this would be a waste and i hate wasted potential.

Now that I think about it, the most impressive thing to me how you managed to tell your story in about 3 minutes without making it feel rushed. It definitely feels like you got the point across well.
I think what shocked me the most is this pilot, visually, looks 1:1 with the web-comic. Especially the thick and thin tapering line weights for the characters, as that's hard to nail consistently for animation clean up.
Also, now I want to read Camp Weedonwantcha again. Such a wholesome, funny web comic.
This is incredible, they look so good animated, and the voices are prefect
Anyone wondering about the webcomic i think the domain expired so unless someone kept an archive of the series it's now lost media

Seventeen sounds exactly like I imagined. Exactly. Everything about this is spot on, the direction is great and Nick's run by idiots to pass on this. Give this back to Katie and Adam and let someone who cares about good stuff fund it.

This feels exactly like an arc from the comic, I'm really impressed how the voice actor nails Seventeen's inflections just like I imagined them in my head
I wish I could mail this to everybody and their mom because this is GREAT

I love the animation style on this. Great characters and voice acting, too. The whole dynamic between Malachi and 17 is so cute. Love how he tries to impress her and stuff. So cute.
The animation style reminds me of a mix between invader Zim and Adventure Time. It’s perfect.
There are so many nickshorts that just makes me jump around and scream out in happiness. They are so incredible and charming that i just don't know what to do with myself and everytime I think about the fact that they all can't be made into shows I get soooo sad. This was one of them for sure. Great work!
I hope Netflixs look at this, there always piking up good shows that nick passes on
You know, you could pitch this towards either Cartoon Network for their universal acceptance towards the slice-of-life genre or Netflix. Although it would be really shitty if Viacom pulled off a "Making Fiends" scenario by saying, "Uh yeah, we now own the rights to your intellectual property miss, so either it gets greenlit or not, it's staying with us for good."
Hopefully that won’t be the case (about the whole Making Fiends scenario). Since Viacom already had rejected this.
The BrightDiamond TP even if a network rejects it they’ll still own the rights to the show

I need more Camp Weedonwantcha in my life. I know it's on an indefinite hiatus but *damn* I need it. It's my favourite webcomic of all time.

It's so strange hearing the kid's voices after having my own in my head for so long. I love what they ended up sounding like though! Before seeing this, I totally had Seventeen pegged for having a southern accent :P

My friend voiced acted in this and he voiced the main character and it was great!!
I just read through the comic for the first time, and finding this treasure afterwards made me squee with happiness. This! Is! AWESOME! I hope one day it will get another chance, because the webcomic instantly became one of my favourites.

This is so great! I've been following your stuff since Skadi, and I want SO BADLY for this to be made into a show -- it feels like something ten-year-old me would have loved and made me feel less alone in the world. A Hey Arnold! for today!!!

This is amazing! Looks like a Cartoon Network kind of cartoon. Or perhaps even Netflix. But this needs to be made into a full series. I LOVE the comic and seeing this just make me hungry for more!
