Considering _The Boy and the Heron_ won the BAFTA 2 weeks ago and that the previous Animated features that had won both a Golden Globe and the BAFTA respectively (except Zootopia; which only won a Golden Globe and Annie) then their is a high chance _Boy and the Heron_ could win the Oscar.
Literally, the animated films that go on to win the BAFTA for Best Animated Feature wound up winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and they are mostly 80-90% accurate most of the time, considering in the last 2-3 years, _Soul, Encanto_ and _Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio_ which won the BAFTA for Best Animated Feature end up winning the Oscar.

The robot dreams comic is also worth checking out. I read it for my Comics and Culture class at my college.

Would you recommend reading the comic or watching the movie first? 🤓 (Haven’t seen or read it at all)

@@Prettygirlcn5 I would recommend reading the comic before watching the movie.

I don't care. They snubbed The Super Mario Bros Movie. That was the best animated film. And they snubbed Peaches for best song. They don't know anything.

2023 was a great year for animation. All 5 of the nominees were great and deserved to be there. Mario could have slotted in but I'm personally okay with the 5 films there.

The Wind Rises was nominated in 2013 or 2014 but lost to Frozen.

The Boy and the Heron should win, but I guarantee Across the Spider-Verse will

I respectfully disagree with you since _Across the Spider-Verse_ only won an Annie but didn’t win the Golden Globe and especially the BAFTA for Best Animated Feature, so the film’s chances of winning the Oscar is at 40-45% compared to the _Boy and the Heron_ being at 55-60% thanks to its BAFTA win unless the Academy voters could pull a "Big Hero 6" and "Toy Story 4" once again and could cause _Across the Spider-Verse_ to win the Oscar instead of _Boy and the Heron_ because of bias and Taste from Oscar/Academy voters.
But I’m going to be honest, outside the _Toy Story_ franchise which won Best Animated Feature through Toy Story 3-4, their hasn’t been *ANY* animated sequel that has won the Oscar, _Shrek_ and _The Incredibles_ won the Oscar, yet their sequels (both Shrek 2 and Incredibles 2) didn’t go on to win the Oscar with the _Incredibles 2_ losing to _Into the Spider-Verse._ So now that _Boy and the Heron_ won the Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Animated Feature over _Across the Spider-Verse,_ then their is a good possibility that _Boy and the Heron_ could win the Oscar for Best Animated feature tomorrow night
Besides, 14 of the 17 animated films that won the BAFTA (except LEGO Movie, Kubo, and Klaus) end up winning the Academy Award for Best Animated feature which has been the case through _Soul, Encanto, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio_ in the last three years and the BAFTA’s are 82% accurate compared to the Annie’s, Golden Globes. Critic’s Choice Awards, and Producers Guild Awards for Best Animated Feature, not to mention most of the films that won both the Golden Globe and especially the BAFTA (except Happy Feet, Rango and Zootopia) won Oscars for Best Animated Feature.

Elemental: It was a good film. I appreciated the analysis & depiction of the immigrant/child of immigrants story. At the same time, I haven’t felt a strong pull to watch it again.
Nimona: I absolutely loved it. The animation was beautiful and the story grabbed my heart🥲 I read the graphic novel right after watching the movie, but I actually liked the movie more than the book 😳 I think because the climax of Nimona’s monster was better captured in the film with what animation can do versus illustrated print.
Going to see it again in theaters this week and I’m rooting for this one to win.
Robot Dreams: I appreciate that you shared more about what it is about because I’ve just barely seen a trailer in theaters, but I wasn’t sure what was going on. So hopefully it will actually be shown in theaters soon so I can check it out now.
The Boy & The Heron: I don’t think I’m the right audience for Miyazaki’s films 🙁 I saw this movie and I was a bit thrown. Your past video for this movie helped me to appreciate it a bit more with understanding the backstory for its creation, but I still just can’t say I liked the movie. Nevertheless, I also bet this one will win.
Excited to watch the Oscar’s 🤩

I might make a whole video about Robot Dreams. I'd like to expand on it more.
