    What asshat designed this thing. Must have found his engineering degree in the forest. Stupidest design I’ve ever seen and I’ve been doing this for 45 years. You’ve got patience I’ll give you that. Good job.👍🇨🇦

      When I first saw one of these, I called the distributor and asked if they were meant to be disposable.

      I had the exact thought bout 40 seconds in and got on here to see if anyone else thought this and first thin you said it perfect. I always say I’d shake very engineers hands that build Hvac equipment most I’d kick square in the nuts. This engineer needs to get TF out of our trade smh

      It might have saved you some time, but at what expense? What a pain in the butt. Must have edited out the customer standing over you wanting to see how to do it next time, and is this technique cheaper? Better have some tissue and duct tape for when you lacerate the forearm. Thank you for doing the video, I've often wondered if it could be done.

    One of the most frustrating jobs I've ever watched! I'd die trying that! I'm in Pennsylvania, most furnaces are in full basements. Occasionally crawl spaces, seldom attics, and of course mobile homes. I don't envy you on many jobs I've watched you do! Great work!

      All the ones I’ve done, I have to pump down unit and remove coil, because 9 out of the 10 I’ve done, the shaft and wheel is rusted together and I have to use a torch and puller to remove it. Apartment maintenance smh. I probably do about 5 a year and now it takes about an hour or so. Those coils are a POS to because they always leak where the aluminum is factory soldiered to the copper.

    I just installed a similar unit by Rheem, the space between the motor and the cabinet is about 2 inches, I hope I never have to replace that thing..... In worst case, I will be only replacing a module.

    If it would have been rusted bad u would have been screwed. I believe if you remove that control box u can get the assembly out sideways. Not sure on that particular set up. But I have done it on similar units.

    I've changed many of these motor in this style system but I've always had room to lower the coil. This vid was very helpful if I'm ever in this situation with no room to reach the side screws. Bet it was a b**** putting the motor back in.

    easier to lower the coil and remove the whole thing. then you can clean the blower cage if need be

    • @markcavanaugh8259
      @markcavanaugh8259 3 года назад

      The coil brackets and screwed from the outside and you can’t get to them unless you wanna cut some drywall then patch it

      That is the problem when the ac room is too tight you can not remove the screws from out side and lower. The EVAP coil so then when the nightmare starts.

      Those particular motors itself are fine half the time, it’s the modules that go bad, would be a whole lot easy if you could order just the modules, because they are easy to take apart even in that small space. But they make everything now to where you have to replace the entire thing

    Your attention to detail really sucks. Yes you are focused on repairing there system but never work on there floors. Go outside and change it out If that was real hardwood you would have had scratches on through that poly.
