I have a feeling that maybe he had something cloudy at that time that he wants to forget or leave behind and that is why now he says that it is "melodic house" when even Armin, other DJs and fans say that it is trance, because that is how it sounds, to the old tiësto but good. they are questions and things that will never have a concrete answer.

VER:WEST specialize in Melodic House music. It's not trance but is related to progressive house. All I can say is this: The real Tiesto is back...sort of.
isos days were the best days ! the new him with commercial crap after the whole trance era was just something that felt wrong. This whole ver:west thing makes me feel whoaa again, like good old days!
Since Tijs announced VER:WEST i was so excited, not only because i love Tiësto and all of his music, but because i enjoy this type of electronic music so much and to know that the legend himself will be making it, mixing it, expanding it and representing it, it's just amazing for me, i can't wait for everything that is in the future for VER:WEST and hopefully i can see him live some time soon after all of this passes! Honestamente como fan de Tiesto desde sus inicios pensé que ya no me volvería a sorprender pero desde que lanzo el disco AFTR:HRS volví mi atención a el y con este nuevo proyecto nos deja ver su lado mas deep y melódico, si bien estamos acostumbrados al trance que siempre lo caracterizó, este estilo me encanta. Que vengan todas las sesiones de VER:WEST, estoy listo.

Yo digo que Tiesto la tocó el cielo y volvió, lo que haga a estas alturas ya es por puro gusto y amor a su profesión pero tambien con este nuevo proyecto esta dando una nueva perspectiva de lo que conocemos como ISOS pero con un toque mas techno. Conociendo a Tiesto y siendo fan desde sus inicios mejor me sentaré a esperar a ver con que nuevo proyecto sale, quizás nos eleite con algo de trance al final de su carrera.

Dale tiempo. Si el trance evoluciona como en esta sesión, con techno oscuro y beats más lentos. Me subo al carro ya. Para mí es la evolución natural de tiesto como dj trancer. Escucho la sesión y por momentos viajo a mi juventud por allá el 99'00 donde el trance era lo mejor y ahora escuchando esto, me suena a lo mismo, pero con una madurez sonora y elegante. Para nosotros los trancers maduros que hemos disfrutado esos 99-05 trancers a tope y crecido con este sonido. A tiesto creo yo que su estilo favorito es el trance, lo que pasa es que su EDM mainstream es lo que le da la pasta.
