- I have this great honor to invite you all to this series of videos which presents great and glorious musical compositions of Maharaja Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar.
This is the composition on Sri Mahaganapathi, the deity in Srividya Tantra practice and the most favored and loved deity in Karnataka Music realm. The entire lyrics in this Kriti (Karnataka Music composition) portrays the grand deity Mahaganapathi while depicting the hidden inner secrets of the Srividya Tantra practices. The Great Maharaja truly was a Srividya Upasaka and this is ably mirrored in this composition. It also features the melodious lively musical character of the Raga Vakulabharana.
Its videography was done during the grand occasion of the 105th Birthday Celebration of Maharaja by one of the most prestigious institutions of Karnataka 'Maharaja Jaychamaraja Wadiyar Foundation' and Academy of Music, Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru, Karnataka on the 18th July 2024.
I am most grateful to the foundation and Academy for featuring my concert based on Maharaja's compositions.
I bow in gratitude to Sri Rajachandra for his most benevolent invite and gesture.
I had the fortune of being accompanied by Internationally acclaimed musical virtuosos of Karnataka music on that day. Dr. Jyotsna Srikanth on the Violin was truly in her exemplary heights of musical creativity. Sri Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma, the most famous mrdanga vidwan took the rhythm realm to its delectable glory and he was ably assisted by his disciple Sri Sunaad Anoor.
Young Musicians and my dear disciples, Sri M S Kausthubh and Sri Nagaraja Sharma joined me ably in this journey of melody, dedication and musical ecstasy.
Thank you once again. Please do share it with your dear ones.
