Saint Thyagaraja was an incarnation of Valmiki Maharishi. Like Valmiki who wrote the great Ramayanam of 24000 Sanskrit slokas, Saint Thyagaraja too composed 24000 songs. Unfortunately we got about 700 Keerthanas. Thalapakka Annamacharya too composed 32000 Sankeerthanams. Sadly, we got about 1300 to 1500 songs of Him.

i evidently remember hearing this rendition by sir in naadabrahma auditorium in 2018. It's so strong in my memory

ಕರ್ಣಾಟಕ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಈ ಭವ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಸ್ವಾದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ಆವಶ್ಯಕ. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧ್ವನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿಲಕ್ಷಣೀಯವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗು ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡುವವನೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಎಂಬನ್ನುವ ಈ ಕಲಿಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ, ಸುಮಧುರ ಹಾಗು ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಾನುಭವ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯಾದ ಸಂಗೀತ ವಿದ್ವಾನ್ ಡಾ ರಾ ಸ ನಂದಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರ ಸಂಗೀತ रसो वै सः ಎಂಬ ವೇದವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. I implore this gentleman to listen to as much of Dr R S Nandakumar's music as one can, for it will admonish his glaikt opinions and bring wisdom into his life.

My favorite composition of Tyagaraja is Endaro, which in my humble perspective sas merely composed to those who deserve it
