Have done this route a couple of times in one day from Hebden Bridge and it's a beast. Some fabulous scenery and tracks along the way though.

I had been contemplating doing the loop in a day, but I think I'll split it like you guys did. After examining the gradients, tackling it clockwise might be gentler on climbs.
Another great video, looking forward to your Norfolk trip.

Great video, but definitely need to do this route clockwise, it's much better, I did this year's ago into a headwind all the way round... Pure madness.. 😏🤟

Absolutely superb video mate. Very enjoyable. I was expecting this route to be easier as it is a bridleway 😅 More like a brutal way after seeing it 🤣 Great time with your mates, what more to expect. Once again great vid, and thanks for sharing. ATB

Lovely video and route. Can’t understand why you were wearing backpacks in the heat. Wouldn’t panniers be easier?

Thanks for the kind comment. It was a great route but a lot harder than I expected. I don’t use a backpack for the same reason you say - but can’t convince the other two to ditch them.

I'm asking since I'm thinking of doing some bikepacking and don't really know what works best for kit storage etc.

What do you recommend for carrying your kit? My sense is that it makes live easier if all the kit is attached to the bike - e.g. handle bar and a saddle bag, but then may be a small/medium rucksack with a saddle bag works better and gives you better balance with your body being the centre of gravity, so to speak....?

Personally I prefer no backpack. If you want to see what I take and how I pack it - look for a video on my channel where I go through all my kit and bags. I packed exactly the same for the Pennine bridleway trip.

Why don't they put gates in places instead of over the walls.. my mountain bike is bleedy heavy and I can't pick it up..

Did this in one day 20 years ago.
Two days is a much nicer way to do itt.😂
BTW....that's Stoodley Pike monument at the nine minute mark.
